| Puppy's ear going down My puppy is 14 weeks old and her ear seems to be going down. She's had her ears up since I got her at 9 weeks but I noticed yesterday one of her ears is floppy. Is this normal or should I tape her ear? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

| Lots of calcium going to her teeth so there's a good chance it'll go back up on its own. This is a normal thing. Some pups ears stay up the whole time, some goes up/down/up/down and then there are some that stays down. If you really want them to stay up, it wouldn't hurt to tape them. There's a section on how to do it properly if you search for it. Good luck! |

| Okay that's good to hear it's normal. I was getting a bit worried for a moment. Thank you for the information

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | It may just be due to teething, but if it doesn't pop up soon I'd be taping it.

| I don't know about Yorkie pups, but my German Shepherd's ears, which were "up" fell a bit when she began teething, but after returned to upright. |

| Also if they have a ton of hair on the ear maybe trim it back to help take weight off. I did that and it helped with Chewie.

| My girl's ears never quite stood up all the way unless she was laying or tilting her head a certain way. More or less now she has the half floppy ears and she's 1 and a half year old now. On some occasion when she is suddenly very alert (espcially after getting a haircut) her ears would almost stand up, but not straight up. We've had in the past a yorkie with total floppy ears and another that had one and a half standing ears lol Our male yorkie had the standing ears and it actually took him over a year for both of them to stand (with one that occasionally flops).
