https://www.aaha.org/public_document...guidelines.pdf That's three sets of shots appropriately spaced out. That's what my Bella got, and she's doing great! That said, I don't think that Dr. Dodds' protocol is horrible--they probably give adequate immunity. The AAHA just wants to make sure. I've read a lot of articles, though, that say that performing antibody titers is pretty meaningless and that you should get the veterinarian recommended vaccinations in later years. | |

| ![]() Update on Lacy. She finished day 7 of her Metronidazole today, but she still has diarrhea! The vet says we have to put her back on the Panacur, which Lacy had a bad reaction to the first time I gave it to her, and we ended up going to the emergency clinic. The vet said to give it to her first thing in the morning, and if she has another bad reaction, to take her in and they would watch her for the day. I pray she will do okay on it this time. The vet says we have to get rid of it, as it can sometimes become serious enough that a pup will die from it. She said again, that there was a 100% chance that Lacy got it from the breeder, even though it was insinuated by so called "Zachary" that she could have gotten it from bottled water that I gave her. I asked my vet that, and she said absolutely no way could Lacy have gotten it from the bottled water. I took the stool the day after I got her, so she 100% had to have gotten it from the breeder. I just want her to get better! So she can go out and have some fun!

| ![]() I reported earlier that I took Lacy in for her puppy shots, and the vet told me that it was her third and final shots. When I posted that here, the breeder immediately wrote me and said that was wrong, that she only had her second set, and still needed a third. So I got all upset thinking the vet had made a mistake, and cancelled the Obedience class that she was supposed to start on the 28th. But when I asked the vet about that today, she said because the breeder gave the first shots so late, at almost 11 weeks, she only needs one more, as giving her a third set would not be of any benefit. Which means I could take here outside to meet people and go for walks IF she was healthy, but I can't because she has giardia. We need to get that cleared up first before we go out. But the vet said I could take her out in my backyard, so tomorrow will be a very exciting day for her!

| ![]() Sharon, I am sorry that Lacy still has Giardia and that you're going to have to give her the Panacur again. Hopefully she'll do better on it this time around and won't have to spend the day at the vet! I know my vet prefers Panacur over metronidazole as a treatment for Giardia, so maybe this will be the end of it. Let us know how she does. Diana |
