| Bengal Kitten+Yorkie Pup=Friends? We are seriously considering getting a Bengal Kitten before Beowulf turns 1 so that it will increase the chances of them getting along. Now I have done my homework on Bengal's and I'm actually a little worried that he might bully my Beowulf which is why I want to get one soon and hope for the best. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this. |

YT 1000 Club Member | My mother has a Bengal cat that is 17 years old. She got him when he was 7 years old from a guy who opened his own business and was working so many hours he felt the cat needed more attention. My sister worked part time for him to make a few extra dollars and was talking to her about the cat and she arranged for my mom to take it. His name is Zaboo and he is awesome! He is tiny as far as lot of cats go, he is very lean and probably about 7 lbs. He gets along great with my mom's dogs. She has a s**tz Tzu and a Boxer and will soon have a Yorkie puppy at Thanksgiving. I think as long as the cat and dog are introduced well it will be fine. My puppies love our cat along with my older Yorkie who I was not sure if he had ever seen a cat before, and at 9 years old some dogs may not be as flexible as a younger dog, but he got along with her just fine.

| My husbands ex wife had one and then they got a Doberman, the Bengal would slap the Dobie around. According to him they can be hateful and domineering...but that's just one review, others may have better experiences I personally would get another Yorkie, esp as cute as yours is!

YT 1000 Club Member | As far as we know the cat was an only pet and kept in an apartment his entire life. He got moved to a house in the country with a dog door where he started learning how to go outside after a while. He doesn't go far, but he does go out in the yard. We don't think he had ever seen a dog prior to my mom getting him at 7 years old. I think it depends on the cat's personality and also the dog's. My mom's Bengal is small but he has a great personality. I have a regular cat who loves dogs, but our English Setter hates cats. The 3 Yorkies love our cat and they get along great. When you look at cat's, look for the one in the middle of personalities. Not overly bold and in charge, but not cowering in the corner. Cat's can be taught to a certain extent and if it is beating up a dog then it can be told NO very firmly and removed from the situation. Spraying a cat with water will also deter most cat's from an undesirable behavior.

| I have bred and show cats for almost 20years and I find Bengals can be VERY primal. I wouldn't recommend that breed. Or Savannah. Same deal. Bengals are best with experienced cat owners are are quite high energy. May be prone 'hunting' your dog. |

YT 1000 Club Member | My mom must have gotten lucky with hers as he is laid back and wonderful. not sure if he would actually get a mouse that is in the house to be honest. He is the coolest cat for sure. His markings are amazing. He has the personality to go with it though. He is not super friendly in your face, but more withdrawn and if you sit still he will come and see you. If you reach for him though he will walk away. However, that is how he is with me who is not his owner. My mom can walk up and pick him up and hold him. I woke up many nights though with him curled up against me under the blankets when I stayed there.
