Yorkie Yakker | I definitely would have reported the pit bull to the authorities so they could quarantine the dog to make sure it didnt have any diseases. I pray Ollie and you recover from the horrendous ordeal. |

| My whole family has found solace in your kind words. Animal control has been notified, and a case has been opened. Mankato has a sister city across the river from us. It is called North Mankato. We are in different counties. So some of our laws are different. They guy who owns the dog, lives in North Mankato. The park where it occurred is in Mankato. Animal control is in Mankato. The officer is trying to coordinate with North Mankato, so this dog will be designated as a dangerous animal. Ollie is snoring next to me. What a resilient little guy. He will be on meds for the next 10 days. I messed up my had while trying to pry open the pit's mouth, so I am on meds for the same amount of time. |

| I am so sorry you had to go through this horrible ordeal. Poor little Ollie. I'm glad he was not hurt worse. Good for you reporting the dog to AC. Dog Parks really make me nervous so I don't go to them. We have met a lot of nice people and dogs over the years walking our pups in a regular park. Sometimes groups of us meet at the park and our pups socialize and sometimes we meet at people's homes for play dates. It has worked well for us since we know all the dogs and owners. Please give Ollie a big hug.

| Wow, I am so sorry you and Ollie had to go through this! How scary We are regulars and I am on the board for our local dog park, but we just visit the small dog side. I would definitely avoid going to your dog park again if there is not a section separate from the large dogs for your pup to play. It is just not safe... You don't know what type of people and dogs are there, and with the size difference, you may not be so lucky next time. I am so glad to hear that Ollie is going to be okay. Keep us updated on the case!

| No news today about the pit bull. Ollie is getting his tube out tomorrow. My little 5 yr. old was crying this morning. She said his neck scares her. It does look horrible. Will keep updating. |

| Some good news.... Today the last of Ollie's scabs fell off. His hair is growing back nicely. The animal control officer from my county called back. The pit bull cannot come into blue earth county anymore. He has been labeled a dangerous dog. This also means that the dog cannot come to the dog park anymore. The a c officer said that they have not classified the dog in nicollet county yet. This is where the dog and owner reside. She said she will try to persuade the other county to take action. My lucky lil' guy will make it to his first birthday after all. His special day is on November 9th. Gotta find a good puppy cake recipe! I can't thank you all enough for your support. Puppy loves from Ollie. |

| Happy to see Ollie is coming along well. Great that you got animal control involved. ppl need to take responsibility for their dogs action. If he knows his dog can have aggressive behavior he has no business being in a dog park. Thank GOD little Ollie survived.

| This is so good to hear your Ollie is healing!! Also that you notified the authorities and got results about the incident. You might just be preventing someone else's little pet from the same horrifying experience and maybe a worse outcome. Thankfully your Ollie survived and will celebrate a well deserved BIRTHDAY!!with his loving family. Bless your heart relief for you too!!

| Much love and gratitude to the wonderful couple who came to your rescue; we need more people with this kind of compassion and caring--with complete strangers, yet! I'm sure visiting with them when Ollie is recovered and you're feeling more yourself will be a wonderful gift; your happiness and his health will replace the awful memories they, too, must have right now. Perhaps a gift card presented with a heartfelt thank you card might also be part of your appreciation gift...? I believe that you and Ollie are both stronger and tougher than you think you are...You got through the attack--that in and of itself shows a lot of bravery and inner, as well as outer, strength. May God bless you and yours during this time of recovery. |

| I'm so happy to hear Ollie is doing well. I imagine I'd be in jail right now for assault on the pit bull owner if I was in your shoes. Dog parks really scare me since Cookie is only 8 pounds, and I only walk her in places where I have a wide open view so I can keep her away from dangerous larger dogs. And she is always on a leash anywhere outside of my house and yard.

YT 2000 Club Member | dog My heart broke reading about precious Ollie. Prayers of thank that he will recover and that you will too. I Never take my yokes to the dog park. Too many unpredictable dogs. Now even if you walk your dog Carry Something. I carry mace. Get something because dogs off leash can attack. I will pray for total recovery for both of you. . |

| So glad that your little one is okay! I can't imagine being in that situation. And thanks to those who have mentioned carrying pepper spray for situations like this, I carry some for myself but never even thought of using it to protect my dog, great advice!
