Actually I DID miss the post because I was posting to your FIRST post. Whether it was meant as an attack or not, they way it was worded came across as confrontational whether you believe or NOT.
I am always looking for comments and feedback because I don't know about breeding or all the cost, and I have no problem taking feedback or cristiscim, but it was the tone of the post that came across as negative. If you are trying to educate people as you say, then maybe you should consider it. She is good breeder and I truly believe she cares about her dogs, I would never question that no matter how much she charged.

I just do not concern myself if it is perceived as confrontational....I post the way I post, and hopefully, people will read and learn from what I say. Do you HONESTLY think I can readjust my thought processes and the way I write or deliver information, to make every single person on this post, all warm and fuzzy? You will just have to settle for honesty and sincerity... If they get all wadded up because they do not "approve" of what I said, or how I said it, they can choose to not read the post. Do you honestly think for one minute I can, OR SHOULD adjust my posts or express my ideas or even take the time to develop multiple methods of posting that will please everyone that reads what I write or express???? I am offering knowledge based on my years of breeding and dealing with puppy buyers, quite successfully I might add. While I have not "made a living" doing this, and have burned thru fully 1/2 of my inheritance, I have produced happy, healthy puppies for many people, many who have returned for second babies. Knowing it is an educational post and not an attack on a specific individual, SHOULD help someone understand the concept of garnering information offered. Take it or leave it.....it will only benefit you and allow you to see the perspective from an angle you would not have the opportunity to see or understand from anyone else that is NOT a professional breeder. You can consume "opinions" on a daily basis, but to understand WHY specific people conduct business like they do, you may have to just read and listen and then take it or leave it. I can not possibly be expected, nor will I even begin to try, to please every single personality that reads this board....I offer the opportunity for people that are uninformed and seeking advice, information that will help them understand why things unfold like they do. I dont come here and complain about page after page, post after post by people that continually make poor choices in purchasing a puppy.....you just keep trying, day after day after day after day, to educate and teach....and hopefully people will not try to re-educate me on writing skills, spelling, sentence structure, thought processes, delivery, etc....if they are interested in LEARNING, they will read the post I offer, or choose not to. It will only benefit them and give them a perspective that, while they may not like or agree with the information, it is the way it works.

Honestly, I don't care if you change your tone or not while you call yourself 'educating' others. You stated you were trying to 'educate' us and that it was not directed at me so I posted my opinion of how the post was perceived.
This post was not about how to select a breeder, so I am not sure why you deemed it necessary to post your opinion here, but I would guess because cost was bought up on the post. Regardless, The tone of the post is up for interpretation and the second post was directed at me, not as a general comment or 'education lesson' so I commented. I hear what you are saying and they are valid points, but I don't see anywhere in the thread where someone was bashing the breeder or saying it wasn't worth the money. They were saying depending on the quality of the pup, it may or may not be worth the investment. You took those post and 'ran with them', which was not even the purpose of me posting this thread..but thanks for the education lesson on breeding, I know plenty know😏

Oh and I am not the warm and fuzzy type at all..I am actually just the opposite so that's not what I meant about the tone of the post. There is a difference between 'educating' people and 'ranting' ..but that's just my opinion. Your post had some very good information but could be perceived as something else. Once again, thanks for the education session....for what it was worth.

I am thrilled your breeder came to you with a solution...you misjudged her and her actions also, initially, and now she has made you a happy camper so she is great! She did exactly what I had said a good breeder would do....and you had unfortunately jumped to the wrong conclusion about her and her response to to the way you chose to handle your interaction with her...did you tell her you had taken the liberty to cancel her check? Perhaps you told her before you cancelled your check what you were going to do? She is even a better person if she took that action with a grain of salt...unfortunately, you did not give her the opportunity to offer to allow you to get out of the predicament you had gotten yourself into. Hats off to her and her ethics!

We shall see what happens after I talk to her this afternoon. And I told her about the check situation as well, and she understood and said she was going to mail my check back anyway when she saw my original email. I am excited about taking to her and will only need her to hold her for a few weeks which she already stated was fine.

I am glad she was willing to give you your money back, that is if you want it. Is this breeder in CA? I ask because it sounded like Miss Pixie/Donna got her pup from the same breeder and she is in CA. If so then I guess the puppy will need to be shipped. I realize CA is probably more expensive than W Va or MI where I live, but to me it still seems like a high price especially since you will not even be able to see the pup in person first. I guess I am old fashioned and like to buy local so I can meet the pup first. I know you are upset from the loss of you pup and it sounds like financially it will be a stretch which is a tuff way to start off. I hope everything works out for you, good luck with your decision.

Honestly the education can be worth thousands of dollars spent on Vet bills. YorkieMom1 is one of the last breeders we have on here willing to give advice. She has saved the lives of countless Yorkie puppies on here giving advice to novice as well as experienced breeders. I think she was responding to another poster who was determining what they felt was a reasonable price for a well bred Yorkie. I do not think she was implying anything by your questioning whether the expense would be right for you after having to spend so much on Vet expenses with your last dog. My sympathies to you on the loss. I learned the hard way and didn't go to a good breeder. I ended up spending over $7000.00 on medical expenses for Buster within the first year and a half. I believe that is the point Yorkiemom1 is making. It is wiser to spend more money on a well bred dog than to think you are getting a bargain and end up paying hefty medical bills and the suffering that the dog and us owners have to go through when they are sick, and that breeding dogs quality health dogs is an expensive business so will pay more for a well bred dog. Judy, I am assuming some of your post was directed at me since I talked about the price. I don't breed but I know an lot of breeders in MI and some other states. Unfortuntely price does not always = the quality of breeder, sadly more often than not lately it has to do with the size of the yorkie, which is unfortunate. I also know that just about every show breeder in MI sells pet yorkies for less than $2,500.00.

If I was ever to get another purebred, you bet ya I would be checking everything out to find out why specific prices were being asked. I will not be like a few people I know that bought through fancy web sites only to find out their pups came from brokers that bought dogs in from overseas yet their web sites made them look like they were buying from champion lines. Before buying a pup I would also post on YT the name of the breeder, the membership here has a huge frame of reference that I would find helpful.

No the breeder is near the OP. Her dogs are well known. I bought from her as I was looking at her and a couple other well known breeders at the time... She set me up with a handler that purchased a ticket and flew my girl home to me. This breeder did not want her to be flown pet-cargo and that was fine by me!
My little one was one that didn't make weight to show or breed, she loved her and was keeping her as a pet. After we started talking, we bonded and she let this little one come home to me. I'll always be greatful to her.

Olive is very pretty, I love her hair coloring. That's good the breeder is close then, hopefully if the OP decides to get the pup she can pick her up personally. As I am sure you know unless you know a lot about a breeder a high price does not automatically mean you are getting a high quality dog. The internet has made it so easy for people to get scammed and this infatuation with "Korean" maltese's, yorkies and poms has me so pissed off. People seem to think it's a status symbol when truthfully that country is filled with puppy mills. It's just when the OP mentioned the mixed reviews the breeder received it got me worried, from what I can tell she did not post the name of the breeder so all of us were in the dark.

As far as shipping is concerned...if YOU schedule a flight on Southwest Airlines into where ever the baby is, you can meet the breeder at the airport and pick your baby up from her right there. It only costs .....I think Southwest has gone up from $75.00 to $100.00....to fly the baby in the cabin with you....that is the only shipping I do anymore...I used to have access to a pilot with access to a small private jet that could make deliveries for me, but he went to work for an airlines and I lost my "air taxi service".
