Is it okay to get my Biewer pup at 8.5 weeks?

I wouldn't sweat the comment from before too much. People here are really friendly and really love dogs, and so many times we have people come here and ask questions and then just stubbornly do what they were going to do anyways. It's so frustrating to us when that happens and it happens over and over here. Most dogs are fine to take home at 8 weeks but yorkies can be so prone to hypoglycemia since they're so small at that age and since they're also so hyper! And parvo is such a huge problem too, you don't want your pup exposed to it in your yard and it could be brought in by neighborhood cats, racoons, skunks, other dogs that have been in the yard, and so on. I didn't know any of this stuff either since before I got Cookie as a puppy I had only rescued, other than a mastiff puppy I got years ago (and no worry about hypoglycemia with that big monster of a pup!).

I hope you stick around here Sharon. This forum was so helpful to me when Cookie was a puppy and can be a great support group too when something bad happens. Yorkietalk and so many of its caring posters (many of whom have posted in this thread) was such a pick me up when my yorkie Minnie died a couple of years ago.

It can be disappointing when you don't get the apology you're expecting / hoping for. But honestly, my suggestion is to just let it go. I don't make such deals. If you think I am going to sit and ignore you while you point your fingers at me, think again. I have said nothing out of line to you .. have not done anything unkind to you....and honestly I didn't see all the hoopla about Cherie being necessary. I don't know how you are not seeing yourself right now as what you are calling me.

Like someone said, you can use the ignore feature. I post wherever I want..usually to try to help people. In this case it was to try and make you see that no one was attacking you; but you listened to the "nice people who are messaging you to talk trash about others, ie stirring the pot.....and now you are acting out all over the place.

I think you should follow the advice to "let it go" because honestly none of this is worth getting this upset over.

I just dislike seeing people upset here at YT...when there is really SO much we all have in common as human beings and as dog lovers. It really upsets me when others are upset, riled up, taking things the wrong way or too personally.

Whenever I get overly upset here, I try (stress, try! ) to grab onto some perspective, and fast. Usually, it works. Life is certainly not easy and we all have such big challenges immediately around us...but let's all try our best to get along here, to be kind, to be supportive, to let things go, to maintain an open mind toward strangers....to focus on what binds us all together here (love of animals! )...rather than what drives us apart.

It's probably best we close this thread before more conflict arises from it. Thanks to all who shared!
