| Toxic mushroom danger--Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson lost a puppy. This news article is a cautionary tale about the dangers of mushrooms to dogs. We've had a wet summer and fall in central Illinois, and strange mushrooms are growing everywhere. We're being extra cautious with Bella. When walking your dog or letting them out in the yard, keep them away from mushrooms. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's Puppy Dies After Eating Toxic Mushroom |

| I read about this earlier, it was so sad. I've been noticing a lot of weird mushrooms growing close by the areas Teddy normally goes in. They're very small and orange in color. Makes me nervous, but I always make sure to watch him like a hawk! |

| So sad. A couple of weeks ago, one of those puppies almost drowned. The puppies were playing around his pool and one swam and the other dropped to the bottom like a rock. He had to jump in and pull it out.

| I watched a video of the puppies when he first got them. So cute! It's so sad one passed away. I had mushrooms growing also but got rid of them immediately. They were brown and in groups. I no longer have any growing. Thank goodness! We have to watch puppies. They want to eat everything they see. |

| Thanks Phil for this heads up... Due to all the rain we had this Spring, this summer I have been plagued with a variety of mushrooms in the back yard that I have never seen before. Because I can't get a good picture of them, some are so tiny, I don't which are poisonous, which are not, Cody eats any and everything, so it has become a daily routine of mine to walk through the yard and plucking them from the ground and discarding them, Poisonous or not, I don't how how mushrooms affect dogs.

| Short list of dangerous mushrooms, be sure to also use the links provided for death cap and destroying angel provided in the article. Poisonous American Mushrooms - AmericanMushrooms.com I've already collected 2 standard coolers FULL of chanterelles in Sept. Just me and the two dogs, Zippy and Rambo, my part yorkie rescue and our pom. Who would have thunk a 5 pound pom could climb mountains and bound over fallen logs like a mountain goat? |

| Only yesterday I ordered some books on mushrooms, as one of the walks hubby and I take, had so many mushrooms. We'd never seen so many mushrooms, ever, I even took some pic's of some. The dogs are always on the lead on this particular walk, as it's required there, but now I think we'll not take the dogs back there. It is so scary how quickly small dogs are affected by the things they get into.

| wow how sad, the more I read the more I am glad we never fenced in our yard, to many dangers to let a dog run free. Lola gets out but on a 30 ft lead and we play fetch with her attached to it, she has been doing it since a pup so she is used to it. I hate the fact she can nor just roam the yard but then between the hawks we have and all the toxic stuff that might be in the yard I am glad she is used to playing with a lead dragging behind her.

| That's very sad... I let Teddy frolic through woodlands which he loves but he is never allowed to sniff anything for too long much less lick or eat anything. It's a hard lesson to have to learn and a tragic ending for any dog. Thanks for sharing the info. |
