| My friend's shorkie is hilarious The other day I was over a friends house just hanging out. She has 3 shorkie's a mother and her two off spring. My friend's house has a backyard with a patio that is completely fenced in with 6 ft white fencing. It's a small area, intimate backyard setting. You can't see in or out. Her back door leads to the patio and of course she has a doggy door that leads to a patio. Anyway her and I decided to go outside to have a glass of wine and to catch up. I go out the door and I look down to see one of the little ones standing there. So I hold the door open patiently waiting for her to walk outside but she is not moving, she is just standing there. At first I thought she didn't want to go outside because I was standing there in her way. So I move out of the way and go sit down but nope, she still doesn't come outside with the rest of us. So finally my friend who is watching all of this laughingly tells me to close the door....lo and behold, the little one goes out the doggy door to join us. Di (my friend) says she will only go outside throught the doggy door.....isn't that hilarious? So of course I spent 10 minutes testing this and sure enough, she would only go outside through the doggy door. You can leave the door wide open and she will not go outside. Meanwhile Duchess doesn't have a clue what a doggy door is and of course, I have to hold the door open for her majesty. Last edited by yavenay; 09-29-2015 at 07:15 AM. |

| lol Cody does the same thing, I had a screen door made with a doggie hatch, as I am either opening or closing the screen door Cody either goes in or comes out through the hatch, if I hold the screen door open for him he will wait for the screen door to close and use the hatch lol. Silly little dogs lol.

| That is funny. A vid of that, would be funny to put on you tube Our yorkies won't go through the 'cat' flap hubby built into the (back door) screen door, or the cat flap next to our front door (that leads to a tunnel under a wooden raised flower box, that leads to to a flap into the back garden). They will only go through human doors.
