| I personally have been a fan of wellness, they have rated pretty well over the years for the most part. Their Core and Simple lines are great for allergies. This may sound bit obnoxious and pretentious, but my general rule of thumb is that if it can be found in an average grocery store, it may be of questionable quality. Purina, Iams, Pedigree, anything store brand, anything made in China, etc... I generally have to go looking for Wellness or Acana/Orjen (which seems like #1 these days but abit higher in protein than average). |

| I've stuck to Wellness over the years, have tried a few others but always return to that. They are highly rated with a good track record, and their Core or Simple lines are great for dogs with allergies. Orgen/Acana is #1 these days I think, but they are bit higher than average for protein. General rule of thumb I follow is if I can find it in an average grocery store, it may be of questionable quality. Anything Alpo, Purina, Pedigree, Kibbles and (whatever), store brand, made in China - I generally stay away from these. I generally have to go looking for Wellness or Orjen/Acana or buy online, which is fine with me. |
