YT 1000 Club Member | Puppy Teeth Anyone else pull any of their puppies teeth? Yesterday Raksha had a tooth that was very loose. I grabbed the tooth and she turned her head and I was left holding the tooth! Jahryn was thrilled because she got a nice tooth of Raksha's to keep. Raksha did not want anyone to mess with her teeth and wouldn't let Jahryn grab it. It was literally hanging there. Rowan will let me wiggle his teeth and play with the loose ones. When they are quite loose I think he will let me pull his when they are ready to come out. They are not quite ready yet. They are getting fixed in a couple weeks and they are going to check for puppy teeth at that time. I am going to ask them to save me at least one of his if they have to pull any of his so that I have one to keep as well.

| My daughter pulled one of Duncan's teeth that was just hanging there when he was younger. We were really lucky with the puppies. I have 7 of Duncan's teeth that I found and 5 of Little Miss Elliot's teeth! I was so excited when I found Duncan's first tooth because I had never found any of Anya's teeth when she was a baby. I guess either she swallowed them, Tuki did or I just didn't see them while I was cleaning.

| Bella lost her first baby tooth last week. I saw something weird laying on the rug and sure enough it was one of her lower canines. She had doubles on the bottom on both sides, now there is just the one double that we are waiting on to pop out.

YT 1000 Club Member | Just a side note... earrings pass through puppies pretty well. I thought Rowan had ate my earring over the weekend. I was told that it is a very slim chance it would do any harm and the best course of action was to watch for it to come out in a couple days. Sure enough I found it in some poo today. I threw it away, my husband said he would clean it and I told him no thanks, they were a $7 pair of earrings and I would buy a new pair. LOL I was told what symptoms to watch for and told to call if he had any problems. He never acted like anything at all was different and then there it was today.

| Just had my 13 month old, 2.3 lb. girl spayed and the vet pulled 16! teeth and gave them to me in a little plastic baggy. I would be very careful trying to pull the teeth myself because Yorkies have very delicate jaws. |

YT 1000 Club Member | This tooth was hanging by a thread. She would open her mouth and it would be sitting sideways in her mouth sticking out. A minute later it would be sitting sideways going in. It was so ready to come out. I would not pull one that was still anchored in there. As far as the earring I was told to watch for vomiting or diarrhea. Also watching for any blood in the stool or any sign of difficulty in going to the bathroom. If they are lethargic and don't want to do anything also. Not wanting to eat or drink. Rowan was completely normal the entire time. It took almost 48 hours for Rowan to pass the earring and I just watched for it to come out in the poo. I just squished it with a paper towel and sure enough it was there. I had of course checked several that it was not in before that. Stud earrings are the best as they pass pretty easily for a dog. My puppy is 7 lbs so he is fairly good sized. I would think a 2 lb puppy might have a higher chance of complications, but it could still pass through well. I would definitely keep an eye on them. I was told this happens a lot and that rarely does the earring cause complications and I could have gotten an x ray, but they didn't seem to think it would be a problem with my puppy to pass it and sure enough it came out just fine. I saw it was there and threw it away and no need to worry any longer about it.

| I had my girl's baby teeth pulled when she got fixed and then when she had her first vet teeth cleaning. There may have been a couple that fell out themselves but I get them manually pulled by the vet. So far as we all know she has no more baby teeth :3 My poor Kimchi was softly crying all that evening when her teeth were pulled/cleaned.

YT 1000 Club Member | The puppies are getting fixed in a few weeks and the vet is going to pull out any remaining baby teeth. I am hoping that most have fallen out by then though. I think Raksha only has a couple baby teeth left, Rowan still has quite a few though. I am unsure about some of the teeth, but some I know are baby teeth.

YT 1000 Club Member | I now have one of Rowan's teeth. He came over and laid against my leg and kept opening and closing his mouth. I thought maybe he was chewing on something so I investigated. One of his lower canine teeth was sitting sideways in his mouth and hanging out and it was most obviously bothering him. I tried to get my thumb and finger on the tooth but he turned his head and the tooth went flying. I grabbed it up before he could figure out what had happened to it and so I have it now. I am so happy to have a tooth of his and he instantly closed him mouth and snuggled against me because I had fixed his little mouth problem for him. That tooth was barely still in his mouth. He is now sleeping cuddled against my leg.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | heard a lot about "anesthesia free dental cleaning" which is scaling the teeth. Maybe someone can give some light on this subject and opinions.
