				   | I just saw an episode of the dog whisperer about this very thing. He gave the dog pieces of fresh banana. They eat their poop when they are very low on minerals in their diet. He put the poop in a closed in area where the dog could smell it then redirected its attention to the banana and gave it pieces as a reward. Caesar also changed the dogs regular diet. No longer a problem. I don't think a tablespoon of pumpkin a day would hurt your puppy but I don't have experience with this as Buddybear wouldn't eat it when he was sick. |

				   | @buddybear, kupo is currently on orijen. so i don't think his food is the issue.... his trainer and vet think he's just trying to keep his place clean.. since he only does that when i'm asleep or in other room doing something.. he doesn't even try to eat it if i'm next to him.. but ty for the idea! i never thought of redirecting him with something else to distract his poo. lol... but... i donno how i'm gonna do this if i donno when he's doing it and i'm asleep.. |

				   | This is the info I found. Add a spoon (teaspoon or tablespoon depending on the dog's size) of canned pineapple, pineapple juice and/or spinach to the dog's food. Also add two tablespoons of canned pumpkin to the food bowl each day.

				   | @misspixi, oh i've also got my bf to buy some pineapples... i wanted him to get frozen ones but he got fresh one instead.. *sigh he never listens to me...* he even got unripe one too... lol. but i thought both pineapple AND pumpkin works for poo eating problem. o.o; i read some in forum where some dogs only worked with only pineapple, or only with pumpkin... i just hope that one of them works and gonna give them both as a snack lol |

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I don't think pumpkin works for poop eating, does it? I would get Solid Gold's SEP (Stop Eating Poop)...worked like a charm for us when Wylie was a pup.

				   | I use frozen pineapple for her poop eating but I really thing it is more of having her area clean as she will only pee once on a pad before I have to change it. After she poos she will bark until I see it and get rid of it!LOL I give her 5-6 frozen pineapple chunks a day. I freeze pumpkin in an ice cube tray and when one of my girls has an upset tummy and has a poo problem I will give them one cube. I had never heard of pumpkin for not poo eating tho.I have heard many good things about SEP tho. |

				   | thank you all for the replies. just wanted to update that giving kupo some pumpkin worked on his poo eating ![]() i tried to give him some pineapples, but other than licking the juice off of it, he was not a fan of pineapple... lol and pumpkin was suggested by kupo's trainer. she told me that while dogs love the taste of the pumpkin, when they poo it out, it smells so disgusting even for a dog and he will not eat it.. lol while it may not work for some dogs, it still may work for some.. i guess kupo was one of them ![]() his poo though.. is getting lil too soft now... i'm thinking of either reducing it or get him 100% pineapple juice since he seems to like the juice more than the actual pineapple |
