| New Member Hi Everyone, I am a new member to Yorkie Talk. I am currently waiting for my new baby girl, whom I will name Sophie. She is only 9 weeks old, so I have 3 weeks before she will be able to come home with me. In the meantime I am gathering as much information as I can to make her transition as gentle as possible and to make her new home a safe place for her. This will be my first Yorkie, so I want to be as prepared as I can. I raised a sheepdog from 5 weeks old, but from what I have read; a Yorkies temperment is entirely different. If anyone has any good advice for me, I am all ears. I am looking forward to reading all the information posted and look forward to finding out as much as Yorkie Talk and it's members have to offer. |

| Welcome to YT and congrats on your soon to be new baby girl Sophie. You must be sooo excited. You have selected an awesome breed as your first small dog. Yorkie are full of personality and mischief. The day you pick her up and hold her in your arms you will fall in love with her immediately. Start reading about potty training, this is the most important first step. Glad you found us, our YT family is more then happy to answer question, give their experience, advise and suggestion.

| Welcome...getting a new puppy is always exciting. Take lots of pictures they grow so fast!! Reading yorkie books is a good idea but I would check your local library before buying because the one I bought I read in ONE day lol but you will find the most useful information here by reading posts and asking questions. I have learned so much. |
