| Feeding Question Hello Everyone, Gizmo has become a very finicky eater. I have to change his food every couple of months because he gets tired of it and doesn't want to eat. He'll eat it if he's starving, but I hate when he gets to that point. I have been cooking chicken and rice for him and adding his kibble to the mix and he loves it. More importantly, he has been happily eating this for the past 4 months which is a long time for him. He is also gets his vitamins every day. My question is how much should I feed him? He weighs 7 lbs. I've looked it up online, but can't really find anything that seems to make sense to me. Can anyone help? |

| If your feeding home cooked food that makes up more then 10% of his diet then you need to look at a supplement made for home cooking and a recipe from a vet nutritionist. You can check out balanceit.com and petdiets.com

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | "How much" really depends upon the individual dog, so I'd just feed to body condition. But more importantly, this diet is likely unbalanced for a dog's nutritional needs - so I'd really go to balanceit.com to get it properly balanced, then you'll be all set .

| My two weigh 6 1/2 lbs and eat 1/3 cup of grainfree kibble total every day. (split into 3 separate meals) This seems to keep their weight even. Ziva needs a little less when we cut down our walks in the summer. I add a teaspoon of rice and bits of boiled chicken a few times a week and they are so excited for their dinner. This doesn't stop Abby from eating the plain kibble at other meals but Ziva, spoiled diva, will refuse the plain kibble if she's not hungry enough. |

| I feed my 2 raw as well as royal canin yorkie kibble for free feeding. Mine are super super picky and want a different flavor raw almost daily. I keep turkey, chicken and bison flavor from vital refrigerated raw. Changing the favors of the same brand raw does not seem to affect them at all and they do really well. They are just very picky thanks to my hubby lol. |
