YT 1000 Club Member | Yes, it was a scam but luckily you didn't fall for it . You could always copy the email like a word doc, delete your personal information, and paste it in the body of a reply. The best way to find a good breeder is through word of mouth. If you know others in your area with yorkies, ask if they recommend the breeder they received theirs from and go from there. Also, if you currently have a vet for any other pets you may have, ask him/her do they recommend any breeders that use their services. Good luck in your search and welcome to YT! |

| scam or not???? Quote:
Hello, thanks for your interest in adopting this my lovely puppies from me, I have been waiting endlessly for loving families to contact me . They are still available OKAY,because i am really trying to locate the best home for them. They are by name (female) Tina,11 weeks old of age, Lovely face, super pretty ears and she also have a great temperament. This little girl stands out because she has a very sweet little face and she looks like a doll. She has a thick and shinny coat too. Can't get any cuter. and (male) Kiki,10 weeks old of age, he is smart, lovable and loves to give kisses. He is an absolute cutie pie, with an amazing personality. He is very friendly and outgoing and loves everyone. He has a beautiful hair coat that is hypo-allergenic and non-shedding.They have gotten all their shots, have been on a heart worm prevention and wormed. They are house train and potty ..Both Kiki and Tina have been great together and they have been good around other pets.I am just so concerned about their welfare and hope you can assure me of that. They are little babies every heart of any family will desire. They come along with health documents like. AKC registration papers, champion bloodlines, travel crates with toys and a year guarantee including a hand book on how to raise puppies.Their weigh, Tina 2.9lbs and Kiki 2.1lb and will pursue to weigh 4.2ibs when full grown. I am giving them out for adoption because of my newly acquired Job as a Legal Consultant which demands a lot of my time and entails a lot of traveling. As such, i have little or no time to spend with them. They are really in need of a home where they will be provided with all the love, care and attention they are being deprived of here.I am presently in Spokane WA on a 4 months assignment.I am here in Spokane WA with the puppies.I have little or no time to spend with them which is the more reason i am giving them out for free adoption. You should understand that i am giving them free because all i expect from you is that you promise and assure me that you are going to take proper care of them.If you think you can take great care of the puppies then feel free to come immediately and present yourself and pick them up, but if you can afford the cost of shipping to your location which will cost you at most $600 for both and $350 for one then i can help you arrange for a shipping service to your location if you can not make it up here to pick them up.I will be happy if you will give my lovely babies a nice and for ever home..however, i can have them shipped to you if you can assure me that you will take proper care of them by answering to the below questions and providing me with the following Have you ever had a puppy before......?What is your Occupation.........? Do you promise to take proper care of them............? To provide pictures so i see how they is doing.........? What is your exact location?.................? Do you want both or just one ? male or female ? When do you want them. Regards Sheyla | |

| Scam or no Scam???? Scam or no Scam???? Here is another one I contacted. Strange they have similar stories right?? They both live no where near me and free dogs, pay shipping. Thanks for contacting regarding our baby Yorkie , we name them little Lino and Lilly, They are currently 4 months old. They have very good temperament with kids and other house pets, very playful love to play around with toys and kids . They are health guaranteed and registered, vet checked . They are up to date on all their shots and will be coming alongside their health and vet records . They will come with, outfits, playing toys and accessories They are so used to their names such that they smile each time you call them .little lino and Lilly are 100% domesticated, cage free trained, perfectly socialized, completely vaccinated, It is very cruel when people do enclose these lovely and affectionate creatures. they are indoor trained as my husband and I will strongly advice you not to keep them in a confinement or enclosure them. . they will also come with the following papers; # Health guarantee 6 months # Vaccine record # USDA License # Micro-Chipped number (In case they ever get lost or stolen) # Nutrition supplement # Traveling Crate So before we chose your home or family to be their new rightful owner,we will like to ask a few questions. Will you be taking them both or just one......................? Where are you located .........................? Are you a breeder..........................? Do you have experience with puppies...? Do you have kids at home to play with the babies......................? As soon as you email us with all these information, we shall discuss more about the Re-homing and how you will have them. Best Regards Sasha |

| Part 2 of Scam or No Scam??? It will be of great interest to know why am giving them out.The nature of my my new job, really does not permit us to take good care of them, and I spend very little time with them and the worst is that I am actually suffering from Brain Tumor, so I really need to go meet the family doctor, and I can't take the baby along with me since it's very costly traveling with them and just to let you know that we don't sale or exchange our household pets for money, that's why I need someone with a lovely home to have them.So all I am looking for is a good and lovely home for her.In addition to that, I travel a lot and will really appreciate if you will accept to take little lilly and spoil her with love, something she has been missing for sometime now , ever since I lost my daughter Sophie who was their one and only great companion .it will be of great interest to know as well that A week ago, I picked up a new job here in (Brooklyn) that's taking most of my time.we are not in the same area because i am located in Brooklyn, we will have to arrange so that i send the puppy to you. i know a very quick and reliable agency called express delivery that i can use to send you the puppy and they will take just few hours to deliver the puppy right at your home address.for the transportation, it will cost you just 350$ including home delivery fee. Before i proceed i will want you to send me the following details: full name.... zip code.... full home address... city/state.... nearest airport in your location.... With this details i will be able to start arranging for the change of ownership that you are the new and rightful owner of the puppy and also register the puppy at the agency and when i register the puppy, the agency will contact you so that you can send them the money and when you send the money they will activate the flight of the puppy and their delivery agent will deliver the puppy at your home address |

| These are without a doubt scams to try to separate you from your money. But the other thing that I found worrying about your first post is you saying you are looking for a "Teacup" Yorkie. There is no such thing. Disreputable breeders will breed small dogs with small dogs to try and genetically produce the small, "purse dogs" that all of the goofy celebritards are carrying around. This produces small dogs with big problems. I know and can tell you first hand that the small ones have their problems! I am 3 months in with my little girl and unless you can handle having a $10,000 terrier like I do, then just look for a good breeder and get a healthy Yorkie no matter the size. Teapots are terriers too!

YT 1000 Club Member | Yes, those emails are all scams. There are a few breeders in your area I've heard good things about. Marsha from Miracle Yorkies and Barbara Douglas in Germantown, TN. Barbara's contact info is located on the YTCA website. I'm not sure how far you're willing to travel and I'm for sure Marsha never ships puppies. As far as the term "teacup" it's a descriptive term same as "teapot", but it's not a breed subcategory of Yorkshire Terrier. Some breeders use it to raise their prices for buyers who are somewhat uneducated with the breed. A yorkie is a yorkie whether it's 2 pounds or 20 . I have a 2.5 lb adult and 2 pups on track to be 5(+) lbs at adult weight. The 2.5 lb yorkie is as healthy as can be with no problems, but he worries the dickens out of me when he jumps from things, runs around playing, or interacts with other dogs(I limit interactions with other small dogs unless it's my bully and even then I watch them like a hawk). It's like having a newborn baby and at times very stressful. What size in terms of weight are you looking for? Most breeders know what their lines produce and can give you an educated guess, but size/structuce/ appearance isn't guaranteed. If you want to make sure your pup weighs or looks a certain way, you may want to look into acquiring an adult. |

| I don't live in TN, not sure where you getting that. Anyway I contacted the vet I use to see if they knew someone lical. They did and puppies are due late August. At least I will know who I am dealing with and her dogs are taken care of and highly recommended. I am looking for a small yorkie 4-8 lbs. range. I have a mini schnauzer who is only 8 lbs. so he needs a friend. ( not breeding by the way) |

YT 1000 Club Member | I "know" you don't live in Tennessee, that's apparent by the Location on your User Title. Which is why I typed "I'm not sure how far you're willing to travel...". That's great your vet knows of breeders and can recommend one for you. Last edited by ColesMommy01; 06-25-2015 at 02:22 PM. |
