Is she purebred? 2 Attachment(s) Hello all, I'm new to the yorkie world and I am considering adopting an older female. She seems like a great fit but for a 1.5 year old yorkie, she looks to have way too much dark hair on her face and not enough of that deep, rich gold I usually see in yorkies. Are some yorkies this color or is she possibly not purebred? Thank you! |
The pics are not working so here is the link! http://images.craigslist.org/00Z0Z_Z...XB_600x450.jpg http://images.craigslist.org/00d0d_k...gR_600x450.jpg |

She def looks purebred to me - and adorable, wow! Btw, welcome to YT :). |
She is adorable! Looks like a very sweet girl. :) Even purebred Yorkies can have different coloring than the standard. She may also continue to change. My boys were still changing in their 3rd year. |
:) VERY Yorkie - and VERY scrummy!!!! :D Such gorgeous-ness! And welcome to YT! :) :wavey: Sally + Harry :aimeeyork x |
She sure looks like pure Yorkie to me......great color also. They really do come in different shades of tan, gold , silver, etc. All the best with her !!!! |
She looks absolutely adorable to me:) And my little girl is still changing colors at not quite months old. |
AWWW she is adorable. She looks like a Pure Bred Yorkie to me. |
Thank you so much everyone! she just has so much more black on her face than other yorkies I have seen. I appreciate the reassurance! :) |
She looks beautiful to me! I would take her home if I could! Good luck if you get her and hang around for lots more Yorkie fun! |
Adorable. She looks all yorkie to me but even if she isn't she is enough:D |
She looks so sweet! I agree with the others, the hair takes about 3-4 years to finally get to their final coloring. At 1 1/2 years, they are still changing. |
You guys are so awesome! Thank you so much! I also have 2 poodles and I am part of that forum as well. You all are so much more welcoming :) I am so looking forward to having a yorkie--I love my poodles too though, just wanted a different breed this time around---looks like I made a good choice judging by yorkie owners! |
She is very pretty and looks like a yorkie to me. As people have said, they continue changing color up to their third year. They come in all different colors other than the gold and black. |
She is a doll!!!!!! If you don't take her, I will! :) What is her name? Are you getting her for sure? |
I'm not sure what her name is. I am meeting her on Wednesday so we will see how that goes. I am a little nervous just because all the puppies I have gotten have come from reputable breeders who do heath testing, etc. I have no idea about this girl's background (although they do say they have AKC papers on her and her vet's records) and they are charging a $700 re-homing fee for her. She's adorable! Although I really hate they are calling the $700 cost a "re-homing fee"....I noticed its craigslist though! They are flat out selling their yorkie. This is just my opinion though! Ok back to the adorable yorkie! Winnie is about 14 months now and she still has a lot of dark hair. |
I know right. I had to re-home a pet once (he was biting my kid) and I never charged anything...I just made sure it was a good home--the guy that took him in was recommended by both the groomer and the vet. I charged nothing--and this particular pet came from a famous bloodline and cost me a fortune!. Do you think this Yorkie is bad news? Im freaking out about possible health issues, etc Quote:

she's adorable.. would pick her up in an instant! yes, she looks pure bred. |
She looks all Yorkie to me... She is beautiful and so sweet! |
$700is high for a private party to "rehome".If it was from a rescue and they had vetting done that is different. Rehome fee should be $200-300 for that age in my opinion. |
Agreed...pricey for re-homing unless she comes with an European sportscar. Kidding...kind of...LOL. Seriously, though, the Yorkie pictured is precious, but are you sure of the 'scam status' of acquiring her? Just wondering...is this really a Craigslist ad that got you considering getting her? Maybe I misunderstood...:D |

Fullbred female Teacup Yorkie Just be very careful. |
I have a 9 year old female purbred Yorkie I acquired a 9 year old female yorkie when a co-worker of mine passed away. She is a very sweet girl, I just do not want to take on another pet at this time. If you are interested, please let me know. |
She is just beautiful, looks pure yorkie to me, if it were me getting this dog I would pray her color never changed, color is just beautiful. Good luck. |
So sorry about your co-worker. I hope you find a great home for the Yorkie baby. |
