| meeting other "big dogs" My parents have a lab/mix and she is 10 years old. She is HUGE, but THE sweetest dog ever!!! I LOVE her! Well, my mom babysits Maddie on Saturdays and i tried to introduce her to Hopi (the lab) so they can play, and she FREAKED! -worse than teh bath! (haha) She was crying and shivering. Hopi just sat there looking and sniifing her, but Maddie was ALL OVER me going NUTS! Any suggestions to get her to relax around Hopi???

| just keep introducing her. As she grows less stressed, give her treats for being good. Be sure to give the lab treats for being calm and good as well. She will get used to her over time.

| I assume that she doesn't really know Hopi yet. I bet with a little time she will find that Hopi won't hurt her. Then she will be more of a pain to Hopi than Hopi is to her (climbing on her and wanting to constantly play). Good Luck!

| My dog loves bigger dogs - sometimes it takes him a minute or two to check them out - and when he discovers, they are okay - he goes crazy jumping and licking them. My Yorkie has only been around larger dogs that belong to my family members --- dogs that we know well. Carol Jean |

| Knowing older, mellow dogs, I bet you'll find that Hopi will sniff then ignore your baby. Once Hopi is bored and goes off to sleep, or whatever, Maddie will become braver and start checking out her environment and even seeking out Hopi. All they need is time. Don't leave them unsupervised until you know that they are okay together, though Before long I bet Maddie will be excited when she knows she's going to visit her good buddy.
