I got my start in showing dogs years ago by adopting a finished champion and learning to show/train on him. The breeder co-owned him with me and I didn't have to pay full price. I thought it a perfect situation, he was already OB, house and ring trained. I just loved him and learned how to groom and show.

Yup I know breeders who adopt their finished Champ. Thats another avenue to look. They want to show so usually don't keep all there dogs. But find good homes for them

I would really suggest you wait some more and save up some $$. You do know the first two years of health care for any puppy is going to be anywhere from $200 and up.


You could contact local breeders see www..ytca.org for breeders in your area and show interest in adopting a retired dog from them.


Rescue is another option
