| strange, sudden behavior in 11 year old Hello, my wife and I witnessed a quick behavior which then stopped as quickly. My 11 year old was simply standing, then started to shake all over, then his rear quarters collapsed, he fell to his side, rolled over, got up, shook some more, then stabilized and he was fine. That happened this morning and once more last week, my wife witnessed nearly the same behavior while waiting in a store. Otherwise, he seems fine, eats well and does his business regularly. He's going to the vet tomorrow, but could use some dialogue before. thanks, Matt |

| Wow, could have been a seizure, good you are seeing a vet tomorrow, to bad you cannot get to one today. I had a pup she was about 9 y/o go through a seizure, it lasted seconds, she got up like nothing happened, seemed fine, I had just come home from work, I didn't know if this was her first one or if she had any during the day while I was at work. I called my vet, told them what happened and my concern, they told me to bring her in, they would keep her over night to monitor her since I didn't know if this was the only one. We were in the middle of a horrific snow storm, I am petrified to drive in snow, but it was my babies life at stake, fortunately I have a 24/7 vet clinic, it took me 2 hours to drive what takes 25 minutes. They kept her, no more seizures, the only thing they could connect it to was a change in meds from the night before, they stopped the new meds and put her back on what she was taking. Good luck. I pray your senior baby is ok until you can get to your vet.

| My tiny JR terrier did this and she is diabetic . She has had 3 seizures in the 3 years she has been on insulin and each time was she needed a higher dose. But it sure scares me to death. I am sending my prayers he will be fine.♥ |

| I'm glad to see he is going to the vet tomorrow. There are so many possibilities, seizures, blood sugar or small stokes or nothing at all, being a few. Mean while just keep an eye on him and if he seems to be having any further problems or you are worried, try calling your vet to ask about an emergency visit. Please let us know how he does.

| Tudor518 Hi all, my yorkie did fine at the vet. His blood work showed no signs of a seizure. the vet said to just monitor him carefully and we'll take a mini exam in 30 days. He had a slight liver function elevation, probably due to stress. He's been fine since. thanks for your thoughts, Matt |

| Is this the dog with the collapsing trachea? My dog had some strange neurological signs at times and now that I think back I believe he had syncopal events due to lack of oxygen at times from his collapsing trachea. Syncopal events look like seizures.
