Having a pet can be one of the most rewarding experiences we have in life but sadly because they live such short life spans those of us who love them have to face the loss of them way too soon. It sounds like you have had more than enough grief to deal with lately. I know it is so hard to face having to part with another loved one. What you see as CF symptoms in your dog may very well be something else or there may be some medication that will help him live out the time he has left more comfortably. I am so sorry you are having to go through this. I hope your vet can help you get through this situation.

Hi and thank you everyone for the kind words and thoughts. I'm taking Harry to see the vet tomorrow. I dont think I'm going to make a decision tomorrow, I just want to make sure he's not in pain. He doesn't appear to be at all. He's eating, bathroom, etc. Just not up for his usual walks. We just go for tiny short ones now...and stand in the grass. He does love Springtime, so for today...we're just gonna hang out. I'm making a little doggie chicken stew in the crockpot today. He gets so excited when I'm in the kitchen, lol the way to that little mans heart is definitely through his stomach.

| We will be thinking of you and Harry, I hope that the vet has some help for you and that Harry will be comfortable. It's such a hard time but we all go through this so we can feel your pain, I think as long as he has some quality of life and not in any pain , you just have to take each day as it comes.

I wish you strength and comfort. I hope you are able to enjoy many special moments together before he must leave you. I am so sorry you are going through such a loss once again. And, of course, the more we love them, the more it hurts when they go. Try to remember what a great life he has because of you and just love him like you have been. and, when the time comes, I wish you courage and peace. Thoughts and prayers sent to you.

There really are so many very kind souls on this site. I will let you know later what the vet says. Of course he's seeming better today and yesterday. The cough stopped. I should have taken a video so the vet could hear it. Today's not the day though. It doesn't feel like the right time in my gut. So, hopefully there will be something more I can do. I am thankful everyday that I googled Yorkies when I got Sunni and found this site The support and generosity of spirit is wonderful.I feel like I'm living in an alternate universe...or the canine version of the "sandwich" generation. Trying to train my little puppy to be a good girl ((haha or vice versa) and helping my old boy live in some peace and comfort.

Well, I was right. Harry is in early stages of CF, but its not the end thank God! We just have to take it a little easier on walks, make them shorter. No salt in his diet..so I do want to check out foods. I hate buying it at the vet. He's been given Forosemide and pimobendan. So, I hope this gives him some comfort. He's bigger then normal, but thats from retaining water. Otherwise, all things considered he's going to be with me for a bit longer...and I'm very grateful for that today.

I am very happy for you and Harry. I hope the changes and the meds will help him feel better and provide both of you with memorable times and many months of life, if not years, for Harry.
