| I've thought about stairs and this is so very sad . Emma nor Troy used stairs they jumped on and off the furniture . It's scary bc the thud from them hitting with such high energy seems like she is bound to hurt something .

| Our Zeus is terrified of stairs -- going up or down. My husband made him a ramp with secure carpeted sides and ramp. He was a little scared of going down at first, but now he goes up and down the ramp all the time. He is a little like me and thinks about everything he does before he tries it, so he doesn't jump off anything. He is 6 1/2 months old and weighs 3.5 pounds. |

| the more I think about it ramps are probably the best way to go, but I believe they probably take up more space. Yesterday I decided to place the stairs I have which are wide and carpeted and made of foam in front of a chest that Lola lays on to look at the window. she goes up them but jumps down, but the chest is not that high and she lands on carpet so I don't worry. Anyway I put the steps in the front of the chest then made her use them a few times, she kept jumping over the last step and I figured out why, the depth of each step is a little to shallow for her. She comes down fast and gets a rhythm going, these steps which are bigger than the plastic one are still to shallow for her gait so it's almost a natural instinct to by pass the steps she feels she might miss anyway.

| Dog stairs help senior or ailing dogs as well as dogs with joint or hip problems such as arthritis. Your dog needs much less effort to climb up to your bed or couch resulting in enhanced comfort. There are several dog ramps reviewed everywhere but make sure you get the right size! Dog rampsmostly used outdoors to get in and out of a vehicle. Seriously impaired dogs may find small steps too difficult to climb —so you may have to go with dog ramps instead. Last edited by JMuedog; 07-05-2016 at 07:40 AM. Reason: Removed urls |

![]() I heard too many times of other's Yorkies breaking their legs and seeing how fragile and small boned Scottie & Casie's legs are, I choose to be overly protective. I am a worrier by nature. Neither of mine are allowed on the bed too, because we're afraid we'd either squish them or kick them off the bed. On the couch, they need to ask to be picked up. At night, both of them sleep in their own dog beds/crates. It's funny because Scottie has become so used to sleeping in his own bed, a couple times I took him onto my bed because I wanted to cuddle, but the expression was hilarious - like he wasn't supposed to be on my bed and wanted to get off right away. The story written by the original poster's friend was so very sad...I hope everyone can protect their babies the best they can and prevent any accidents at all from happening!
