| Buyer Beware II Just another fyi for the evening... a seller had posted a blue born pup for sale on puppyfind as a 'rare' color yorkie 1,200.00 I mailed her to let her know that this is Thankfully a 'rare' genetic defect that is many times fatal and at the very least usually involves serious health issues for the pup as it matures. I sent her a link for info on genetics relating to this problem and got a reply that it wasn't her pup, but she was selling it for a friend who had cancer and didn't want to hear about any problems. SO, someone is going to wind up with this 'special' rare yorkie and oh well for them... |

| What does her friend's having cancer have to do with the puppy's problems? And what does it have to do with "dishonest advertising???" Can't understand some people. Unfortunately - you know - someone might just buy that little pup thinking they're getting something special. Don't we all hate to see this happen. Carol Jean |

| I mailed her again and was sympathetic about her friend with the cancer and tried to explain Again how important it was to not sell this pup to an unsuspecting buyer as a rare find. She just sent this back, so maybe I am getting somewhere. I apologize for not having the link up...I'll see if I can find it. | Poor, poor Mrs. Sandra! Thank goodness her son in law can help! Sheeessh making light of cancer... these guys will do anything to tug at the heart strings! Even sadder than the scammers is that I'm sure they get money this way, or they wouldn't be doing it! Puppufinders should ban anyone from Nigeria from placing ads. And why always Nigeria??? You never see, say, Tiawan....

| Hopefully you've gotten through to her and she's not just humoring you. That's going to be a very expensive lesson for someone if she does get a buyer. |

| I have heard that before but everything I read suggests that all off colored Yorkies (blue, chocolate, parti and tri) are suspect. Is it just the blue? Is there some place where we can read about this? This is the only info I have found about color. thanks http://www.ytca.org/faq.html#B |

| It will be so sad for the buyer....Thanks sylvan for trying to explain to these people the risks involved with owning a blue born yorkie...It's so sad that they have so many health problems.

| www.goldenrayyorkies.com has a good info page on the genetics of blue borns. Whispersmom Rini is sort of our resident expert on the subject and you can probably find threads about it in search.
