When I come home from work, I will go into the front room and lay down on the carpet and yell "daddy's home!"...Toni will open the gate from the kitchen and they come running full speed...one climbs on my chest and the other stands next to my head and they lick away...I think it is a great way to bond...the only thing that bothers me is that dreaded tongue up the nose! I will pinch my nose to stop that but then when I open my mouth to breath they start licking my teeth. They only lick and kiss the ones they love !

That was really cute Max! My Chi and I play a kissing game but never on the mouth. She's a moody little girl so I like to make her trade kisses when she's in her little "touch me not" mood. All of my dogs give kisses. My Min Pin puts her front legs around my husbands neck to give him kisses. My weenie dog Syndi tries to sneak kisses up the nose or in the ear. My other girls do the normal licking on the hand but Hannah Nicole goes into full bath mode including laundering my clothes!! I get flea baths too. Under the covers she goes for my belly button and that grosses me out but other than that I like my kisses. As a matter of fact she just now cleaned my shirt and half of my arm then looked up at me gave me two face kisses and fell asleep in my arms.

Lets not forget the unexpected love when you're yawning.... Their tongues are small but faster than lightening!

This was the topic at work during lunch yesterday! Two of us are dog lovers. The two others just don't get it.

Yes, I tell Barney all the time that he is not a french poodle and to get his tongue out of my mouth. Anna doesn't go for the mouth, but she gives my face a thorough cleaning every day.

I'm jealous of all of you who have kissy babies! Lexie is NOT a kisser, and when her Highness decides Mommy deserves a little love, she'll lick my hand. But that's all (sigh) :(

Uni always licks my hands when I am putting on her BB when I am trying to get her arm feathers thru the holes.

Haha! Yes, what is with the up the nose? Max does this too.

The arms around the neck is so adorable. Max did it when he was a puppy, but now he just lays his head on my shoulder like a baby.

Ohhhhhh, this makes me miss my Shelby. She was a great little kisser. Ali=not so much. Ali is more of a cuddler, but she just doesn't kiss. boo hiss

Ever since I got both my puppies, they have kissed us. All we have to do is make 'kissy' noises, and both of them start kissing away. Elliot loves to kiss my mouth quick and fast and loves kissing my teeth too. She always kisses my daughter's one ear like she is 'milking it' but never mine. Duncan loves kissing too but he just licks our mouths slow and long. After a couple kisses, he is finished. Not Elliot, she will keep kissing you as long as you allow it. They also kiss you when you let them out of their crates or playpens, before they will do anything else. If you put them down without their kiss, they will stand at your feet until you lift them up so they can kiss you. We have taught Duncan to hug too. When we tell him to hug us, he puts his paws around our necks and hugs us. Too bad he hasn't learned sit, stay and come as well ;) Still working on those.

Toto tries to give kisses after I let him out of the crate too. Like he's saying thank you for freeing him. But then he hangs out in there by himself and even in the dark sometimes. He likes it in there.

Sophie is a hardcore kisser! She would lick our faces for hours if we let her. We call it the ninja tongue because one minute she will have it up our nose, the next in our ear and then to our mouth before we can even get a chance to tell her to stop. I don't mind though, I love her kisses. She even gives the vet a swift lick on the nose when she picks her up!

She isn't feeling well today so she won't give any kisses at all and I miss it!

Thank you. She wasn't eating all day so we took her to the vet tonight and her anal glands were full and one had some puss come out when they expressed them. She also had a high temperature so they did her annual bloodwork and put her on an antibiotic. She ate her dinner and yogurt when we came home and has been giving kisses again, so fingers crossed bloodwork doesn't show anything bad and her temperature goes back down!

Oh yucky. Good thing you brought her in when you did. I have a friend who's dog's anal glands ruptured and he had to go into emergency surgery.
