| First Time You Saw Your Baby... Since yesterday I asked about your first day with you new Yorki baby, I would love to know about the first time you went to your breeder, etc., and got to see the pup you would eventually bring home with you... Was it the same day? Was it a few weeks before, when your breeder was just starting to ween them away from their momma? Would love to hear you answers... I am getting closer to wanting to go and see some Yorkie pups and hope to ge to select the one for me and my family! I love hearing your stories! |

| I brought Frankie home right after I saw him. When I made the appointment with his breeder, the breeder reminded me to bring money with me, because he knew I would fall in love with the puppies (and I did!) |

| I first saw Cordelia in pictures on the breeder’s website. The day I went to go pick her up, was the first day I saw her in person. OMG she was sooooooo cute! In the car she went to sleep on my chest. The same day we took her to the vet to have her checked out to make sure she was ok. She got so scared while she was on the table she would hide her head in my jacket. She was so quiet and sweet the first few days after bringing her home. Now she runs around and has so much energy. |

| The first time I saw Bouncer was at least a month before I brought him home. I went to just "look" at the puppies and automatically fell in love with him. He was the cutest one of the litter (even the breeder told me so after I was able to take him home haha)! He was so small, he fit right in the palm of my hand! Who knew he'd be the "biggest" guard dog I ever owned! haha

| We talked back and forth with the breeder for weeks while we were in Missouri and had located her in Georgia. We were planning a trip to Alabama and were to go over and take a look at the three babies ... never dreaming she would actually sell us one. We could sometimes hear little yorkies "yipping" in the background when we talked to Ava on the phone ... such a sweet sound! Shortly after we drove down, we set up a meeting at Dr. Lucy's when she was bringing yorkies over there for a vet visit. We had already visited at Dr. Lucy's a couple of times and asked a bzillion questions. We went down ... met Ava and after she met us ... finally brought the first baby out!!! THAT was my baby Toto! I was speechless ... no matter how many thousand pictures you look at and how much you read and study about them ... there is absolutely nothing like that "first" look! The first time I held her in my arms I got tears in my eyes ... I have never known such a feeling!! She just immediately stole our hearts! We didn't even look at the other two!! Ava wanted to keep her for several more weeks ... I thought I would die if I had to wait!! After LOTS more discussion we finally convinced her that we would be able to care for her, financially and otherwise and we have been looking at that little face ever since!! That first look is just beyond words!!!

YT Addict | I started talking with Cha-Cha's breeder when Cha-Cha was one month old. I talked to ther several times and I was asked a million questions from breeders until she decided to let me own her yorkie. I first met Cha-Cha when she was two months old. I came to visit and play with her every weekend at breeder's home. First time I met her, actually I met her mommy and daddy first. And then breeder brought Cha-Cha out, wow...Cha-Cha is so sweet. Breeder also explained about her general appearance versus the breed standard. Until Cha-Cha turned to three months old, I got permission to bring her home. |

| I met my breeder on a Yorkie forum too. Her dam has given birth to 3 puppies. I only saw pictures of the pups on the forum. I only wanted female and she had 1. But I did not have any chemistry by seeing just the pic until I went over to her place. I immediately fell in love with memphis who was then about 5weeks old. But my breeder was very picky with who she sells it to. So she had some serious thoughts before she decided to sell her to me. I went to her place a few times to see memphis before she was ready to come home with me a few weeks later. That few weeks of waiting....was the most anxious period. |

| Well,it took me AGES to find Lady..we looked everywhere, but being in Majorca (a very small island outside spain) its not easy to find certain breeds. We dont have to worry about puppymills here, our island is tiny and totally dedicated to tourists,we hardly have breeders here! lol.One day we were shopping and saw a little pet store that we had never seen before (we dont have many,2 or 3 on the whole island) so we went in to ask the owner if she knew of anyone who had yorkie pups. It must have been in the stars because behind the counter in a big wooden pen was a yorkie mommy with 2 pups left!! One was a big boy and the other was Lady They were 7 weeks old and ADORABLE!! The mommy was the pet store owners own yorkie and she was so sweet,it seemed to good to be true.So we were able to take Lady home She was TINY! At 8 ounces she was a ball of fluff and just adorable! Of course after yorkie number one comes yorkie number 2! lol.We got Jess a few months later from Ladys breeders sister who was starting out in yorkie breeding..the rest is history I have NO idea how to post pictures on here, but here is the link to Lady at 8 weeks old and about 9oz http://www.*********.com/mbbs2/photo...sp?photoid=142 and here is the link to Jess at 8 weeks and 2lb´s: http://www.*********.com/mbbs2/photo...p?photoid=5540 |

| Will never forget the first time I laid eyes on my Kiz,it was a week before Christmas two years ago. I have only ever had cross breed dogs as I have rescues, the ones people throw away etc,had always wanted a Yorkie but one never came up in rescue when I was ready for another dog. Had just taken in a Bedlington cross and already had a gsd cross so after twenty years of hankering for Yorkie gave up on the idea altogether. Well anyway, knock at the door I answer and there is my local animal welfare lady with a tiny tiny Yorkie pup with a little tinsel wrapped around its neck She asks if there is room for just one more, best Christmas present I ever had . It seemed the back yard breeder couldn't sell her and wanted rid of her before the holidays, whooopeee !! her loss was my gain, was like winning the lotto |

| Cherie was adopted by me when her owner was posted overseas and she had to give her up. I guess it was fate that brought us together. Cherie was left with the owner's friend and this friend posted in the local yorkie forum asking if anyone wants to adopt her but with certain conditions attached. I was not very comfortable with the conditions so I did not respond to her posting. I know alot of people showed interest but maybe the friend was very stringent in her selections and did not give Cherie to any adoptors even after a long while. I thought she would have been adopted already but was surprised when the friend posted in another pets forum which I was active in, asking for adoption of Cherie. This time, her conditions were acceptable to me and maybe it was the right timing so I responded. She got back to me the same night asking if I am willing to pay an adoption fee and she needs to meet up with me to access if I am suitable for Cherie. As I was free on that night, I readily agreed to go to her house to see Cherie. She told me there will be another person coming to see Cherie too. It was raining heavily that night when I reached her house. I immediately fell in love with the furry little black ball, Cherie was only 10 weeks at that time. After a while of interaction with Cherie, she was very playfull, nipping my toes and fingers all the while. The friend immediately gave her consent to let me have Cherie, I was overjoyed as I didn't expect her to give a decision so fast. Maybe it's heaven's will too coz the other potential adoptor didn't show up, maybe due to the heavy rain. The friend brought Cherie over to my house a few days later and she has been my bundle of joy ever since. Last edited by yoyo; 03-18-2005 at 08:00 PM. |
