| Got my lil boy from the boarder. The only place to board a dog around here is at a animal shelter. I know my lil guy wasn't abused but, he sure acted traumatized when I picked him up. My friend I go visit has two dogs and a cat so, not real comfortable about taking him with me. Not sure what other options I have for the next vacation. Sure is good to have him sitting on my lap right now |

| There isn't a local Vet office that offers boarding in your area? Am I reading this correctly, your local Animal Control board animals? I have never heard of that (not saying it isn't so). I think I would not leave my dog there for sure.

YT 1000 Club Member | Do you have a friend or family member who would take them while you are gone? Even a teen who is responsible and would come in and stay most of the day with them in the summer might be more ideal. My 17 year old daughter will house sit for people and watch their dogs and either stay there even at night, or at the least go there in the morning and stay until bedtime at night with people's dogs that way the dogs are in their own home. I do not like to board my dogs and luckily I have a neighbor that will come to my house and walk the dogs several times a day. My Yorkie generally goes with me though but the big dog stays at home. I hope you find something more ideal. Make sure you arrange it in advance and the dog is comfortable with the person. I dog sit in my house for a few of my friends dogs and we have a few we will go to their house and watch them. Good luck as I am sure the dog is not given the love and attention an individual could give them.

| I never board mine because you really don't know how they treat your dogs and your dogs can't tell you. So if Callie can't go I don't go.

Our vet gave a thumbs up to the animal shelter. I think, just the idea of leaving out lil guy for a week was just hard period. | |
