| New Baby-Hyperglycemia and Nutri-Cal A new neighbor is picking up their 12 week old yorkie baby tomorrow. I have read on YT about puppies getting hyperglycemia and giving Nutri-cal. Can anyone provide me with information what is Hyperglycemia , how and what can cause Hyperglycemia , the signs of Hyperglycemia and how much Nutri-Cal to give the baby. I would like to print it out and run over to them with this information so they can have it before the puppy comes home.

| It happens when they go too long between meals. The small puppys body is unable to compensate because they have no fat reserve. Every organ in the body needs blood glucose (basically sugar) to function. So low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) can be fatal if not treated soon enough. |
