| whats up doc??? We are back. I bet you didn't know I was gone. I have a lot of catching up to do on here. Our trip to Ohio went well. the first 2 hours was really rough due to the fact that Archie got very car sick. I thought we were going to lose him. I called the vet on the road to see if there was anything we could do to help him. they told us to give him 1 MG of childrens benedryl per pound to sedate him. while in the process of finding a store in eye shot of the freeway he got better and we didn't need to give him anything at all. He was fine from then on. I had layed the seats down in the pacifica and put a wire crate with a pee pad and they were so good about using it. NOT ONE MESS OUTSIDE THE CRATE. I was so proud of them. they all traveled very well. 3 days in a car all day and by night time we were all needing a room. (i like to travel between the hours of 10 A.M. and 5 P.M. .... My husband dont see it that way). By the time we got a room each day they were all wanting to do nothing but run loops around the room.(which they did). I have to give a lot of credit to my daughter for letting us all use her home. 5 dogs and only 2 being fully house broken was quite and ordeal. she did tell me if they made just one mess on her carpet we were all going to the basement. .....not !!!!..... we have decided by the next trip we are going to purchase a motor home. my husband says we will wear out our welcome with all these yorkies. And the motels...... I am quite sure they didn't know how many pets we had when they said they accept pets. none asked and we didn't tell. hee hee. only the last night did i have touble keeping them quiet. We are home now, less one yorkie, (Woody/Cash). We turned him over to his new family. I know they will be good to him. They are a very nice couple. I wanted to trade him for their daughter but that was a no go. LOL. Any how ... here I am ....I'm baaaccckkkk!

| actually they are all pretty quite all the time except if they heard doors opening and closing or people talking in other rooms. which was the problem in the last place we stayed. I leave the tv on all night so they don't hear much background noise. and we play. they have me fetching the ball and brushing and the such. my life are my babies and they keep me pretty quite in motels.

| I give your daughter credit also - five dogs and only two fully trained..... I have two dogs (one not fully trained) had two cats, and a bird.. but I'd be hard put letting someone with five dogs stay here. I think I'd block off my kitchen (which is reasonably large) and let them all stay and play to their heart's content in there. We'd work something out. I have a friend with three daschunds who always talks about coming to visit me with her three dogs. I keep thinking - has she forgotten how often she has told me her carpets have all been ruined - and other things .....no thanks! Sounds like you had a great trip, and I'm glad your little pup stopped being car sick! You should take videos when you travel with all your dogs - they might be very entertaining. Carol Jean PS: My little boy puppy wears a belly belt whenever we go visiting. I don't want him peeing on someone else's carpet. Not that he's never done it - and not that they weren't gracious about it. But, I'm sure they'd rather it hadn't happened. |
