| Retail Rescue Great piece by NPR about rescue groups having more demand than supply (good news right?) and how some are importing dogs domestically and internationally which is causing some people to be concerned. With Rescue Dogs In Demand, More Shelters Look Far Afield For Fido : NPR |

| Some year back we has an SPCA in my area, they would euthanize dogs ifnot adopted with-in a certain time. I don't know the reason why they closed. Several years ago it was reopened by a no kill shelter, not funded, survives on donations and fund drives. I was amazed to hear they take dogs from every state if they have extra room. It's a very large facility.
