| Rear Clogging My pup is 3 months old and I noticed that his bum area gets clogged. I constantly clean him but I don't want to irritate it and he HATES me cleaning him. I don't have a shaver so I can't shave him yet. I guess my only choice is to wait till he gets groomed?

| When my pups were little I took scissors and cut the hair around their bum area.

| I never had this problem. You might want to change his diet. His poop shouldn't be that soft to get stuck unless I guess his hair is really long. |

| I would suggest you get some good clippers. Less than $20 for the small handheld cordless type. The cost for groomer is about the same and I found I hated taking my babies to the groomer. They want to keep them for four hours or more (which is torture for my babies and me.) They cut out tangles instead of brushing and they shaved my little bronx when he was a baby. After that, I just got the clippers at Leslie's beauty supply (at vilette's recommendation) and you can clip ears, hineys and around the eyes. It is not that hard after the first time. just be careful not to hurt them - I try to shave 'away' from their little butthole. I shave them whenever they get poop stuck in their hair after a butt-bath. Their poop is usually more firm, but it will be a little softer if they eat any people food, or sometimes too many treats - they are always so good, they get a lot of treats.
