| Why is she humping her mother? Hello all, I have a female yorkie, Pixie and she was bred with a male, Wyatt, but they never locked. The entire process was as much work for the stud's mom and me as it was for the yorkies. It was Pixie's first time and though Wyatt was proven he was shorter and a couple pounds lighter and Pixie just could not stop moving once he entered. So now it's the waiting game, but what does it mean if anything, when she continuously licks and humps her mom (never her dad). Last edited by YammeringYorkie; 01-01-2015 at 07:31 PM. |

| I don't want to come off as rude but how much do you know about breeding? Did you do the proper testing? Your male should be smaller then your female.

| Thank you Lovetodream 88 for your reply. I have been breeding long enough, but size was not my question. I'm fully aware that the male needs to be smaller. I was just giving the full story so that maybe it would help someone answer my actual question. Thank you for your support. If this is the type of assistance I can look to attain, then maybe this site is not for me. |

| I think it is probably a sign that she wants to dominate her mother. Dad is probably already submissive to her. Not anything to really stress about. I am no expert but have had a long time living with dogs.

| Humping has more to do with just plain excitement than anything sexual. Many dogs that are neutered or spayed will hump when they get excited or upset about something. Your female for some reason is doing it with her mom. It may be she just feels more comfortable with her. |
