lol don't even get me started on these harnesses lol. The day I adopted Cody his prev. owner had packed all his possessions in a bag, including a harness, my vet put the harnesses on while I was gathering up his bag. When I got home I was just concerned to get lil boy use to his new home and didn't pay attention when I took off that harness. I went to use it the next day, it took me 45 minutes to get this thing on him, poor boy was so patient, I used it 2 more times, still 45 minutes, soooo, off we go to get Cody a new harness that ya didn't need instructions on how to use it lol. Yes, some of these harnesses are a pain in the butt.

Thank you. I almost had a heart attack. It was pitch black with a dim light here and there. No light at all where Daisy fell in. We had a nicer harness on her that we found online made in the style of the buddy belt but kind of a vinyl material. Maybe similar to the bb2. I don't think we could have gotten her out with those cheap strappy ones. She weighed at least 15 lbs. at the time. Later I discovered Buddy Belts and I love the leather ones. If it hadn't been for the good strong harness I might have lost my baby that night.

I only use a harness when walking my dog on a leash. However, I do see a trainer for conformation/handling classes and use a "lead" there. It fits around the neck but never actually touches the trachea as it goes up behind the ears and is held very loosely. I wonder if your trainer was actually talking about a lead and not a collar?

I am assuming you will be showing your dog, those are the noose style ones, correct? Those type are used for showing a dog but you will very rarely see a show dog pull so I would assume for that purpose it would never bee a problem.

Long before YT and the internet I had yorkies and never used or thought about a harness. I think I thought harnesses were used to keep big dogs from jumping up Looking back now I was lucky because I never had dogs that pulled when walking or had weak necks. But now I would never walk a dog by the collar. Now I am the crazy harness lady telling everyone I encounter walking a small dog by a collar how they must get a harness, I have even pulled my car over to impart my wisdom

Lead for show dog. They are trained to walk. Thats what most of there training is but its in a secured environment. Out in public when a not so trained dog comes its good to have a harness on for a quick pull up in-case you can't reach. All the show dogs I know only learn how to walk and give kisses. No tricks

I am hoping to show her once I can get over the anxiety, lol. I can't speak for show dogs but trust me, this show puppy pulls. She sometimes looks like a sled dog digging into the snow, lol. No damage done to her tender little trachea though as the lead fits up behind her ears and chin. I use a harness when taking her for walks.
