Hello, My name is Kim Balas I would like to introduce myself, my name is Kim Balas. First I would like to say that Yes, I am a breeder and have been so for many years but beside being a breeder I am a mother, wife, daughter and sister and good friend to all of those who know me personally. Most importantly I am human being with feelings. I don't usually sign up or go on the forums as during the years that I bred and showed my other love (Ragdolls) I was the lucky recipient of being the president of one of the Ragdoll clubs, during these years I learned how really cruel people are to each other. (We allowed no flaming on our forum so we did not have many participants) So this being said, I am going to address the post that has been floating around about my wonderful yorkies and myself. My hope is that all of you that are so quick to jump on someone that you know nothing about take the time and realize that all is not always how it seems. With all the strife in the world these days the last thing that we as Americans need to do is fight with each other. I know that many of you have had bad experiences with breeders and I am sure equally many of you have had great experiences and some of you do rescue. But my hope is that in the season of loving and caring that you can stop and take the time to be good to your fellow man/woman. Now I will go on the thread and address the post that has all the hateful remarks about me on it. Regards, Kim Balas Mistibleu Yorkies |
Hi Kim - welcome to YT :). I think it's great that you're willing to come here and address the issues that mention your name - it's not always the easiest or most pleasant thing to do so I commend you for your willingness to participate. |
We gave support to a member who came here with problems and issues. I'm not sure why anyone would just come out of the blue and make a post that would be lies. I'm not sure why anyone would do that. I'm also not sure how your comments can't bear seen as hurtful. What makes you more believable then the other person? I believe someone said there were bad reviews about you on google so what about those? More people especially on a message board looking for help have dealt more with bad breeders then good. There are many many many more bad breeders then good breeders. |

Kim dear do you breed other breeds as well? |
Kim has come here to share her experiences and her side of the story, something she did not have to do at all. Can we at least offer her a modicum of respect while she is here? Whether you agree with her breeding program or not, she still deserves to be treated fairly, calmly, and respectfully. We can all share our opinions without snark or excessive judgment. |

I think, though, we can also be respectful concurrently to all of that - there is no good reason why we cannot. My personal belief is that just bc someone treats you a certain way, it doesn't mean you should respond in the same manner. In other words, if she treated you w/ snark - why does that mean it's okay / admirable for you to turn around and then do the same? Why not meet snark with its opposite instead, ya know? Be the bigger person. I hear you on being "soured" by so many breeders. At the same time, as someone recently mentioned to me -- I am also SO soured by many, many bad pet owners. |

Kim, welcome to YT:D We are all passionate about the love of Yorkies here and since most here consider them family so feelings are strong. Most of us are very interested in hearing from breeders and are always looking for reputable breeders. I dint breed, but I hang on the words that the breeders share to better understand the breed of Yorkies. Glad you joined! |
to: Kim Balas Here is what I posted on the other thread. Just in case you might have missed it: @Kerry 915 Perhaps if you document and re-send to your breeder, your written vet findings (most especially calcification indicative of a previous boney injury) and give the breeder the opportunity to step up to the plate (yet again), she might find it in her heart to do right by you. Phone conversations especially when one or both parties are upset certainly can lead to mis-understandings and mis-rememberings. As an observer what we have here so far is a *he said/she said* situation. Document his medical issues through your vet reports and any testings that have been done. The ortho surgeon should also be able to weigh in with his opinion certainly on a pre-existing bone condition. Document the assessment of the LP assessment by the ortho and hopefully digital Xrays were taken which can easily be forwarded by your ortho to the breeders vet. Send all documentation out by registered mail to the breeder. That is what I advise you to do. At the minimum the breeder has come on here to share her side of the story; with objective proof of your boys health conditions she might be more willing to resolve (as a good breeder will) the situation with you. |
I wonder why she has not come back to answer questions? |
