| Am I being scammed??? Has anyone ever heard of USDA?? I'm possibly buying a dog off someone and they said I would pay through the agency (USDA)... I tried to google more info about it and to see exactly how I would go about paying for my dog through them and I got nothing. I need to know if this is a scam. Anyone.. Please help!!!!!! |

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. The USDA is the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a federal government agency. They do not handle payments for purchase of puppies.

| Don't trust it. Buy from a local breeder or travel to pick up in person is your best option. |

| I bought my little guy through a USDA breeder and paid the seller directly when we picked him up from her home. |

| Here's a site that might help explain some. There's an area to register a license with them which includes breeders. USDA APHIS | Animal Welfare But not sure how it plays into the general breeding/buying part except that the intention is to ensure the welfare and health of the animal ^^;

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I don't think this sounds right at all, given that the USDA is the dept of Agriculture.
