| Anyone have a Yorkie that grew out of his/her roached back? If anyone here has a Yorkie that had a roached back as a puppy and grew out of it, at what age did you start seeing a change? Trinket its almost 5 months old and some months hers looks better than others. I can feel the curvature of her spine. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | It might be possible, but it will likely take a lot of work on your part. Have you discussed this with your vet? What does she say might be the cause of this curvature? If you get the all clear from your vet to start doing muscle building exercises then you should be able to improve upon the curvature, in any case having good strong muscles will be of benefit for your dog. Here are some: 1. Sit Beg Stand - there are you tube videos that show how to train this. 2. Crawling 3. Place her in a suspended stack . or on the table try range of motion exercises with all 4 limbs one at a time. 4. Massage of the spine - will feel good for you both 5. low stool stand - teach your dog to place two front legs on the stool - have her stay there - use treats as rewards 6. Upward dog pose 7. Good long walks - overall conditioning 8. Swimming - overall conditioning

| A roach is a roach, perhaps some conditioning will improve on it but if it is a pet, what difference does it make? A fault like that will make it a pet quality. For breeding, don't even think about it will produce roaching in puppies and likely on into next generations. |

| My vet said she may grow out of it but that was back when she was 12 weeks old so I was not sure if that was out of the question now at almost 5 months old. Thanks for those tips ;-) She is companion only and will be spayed. I am more so concerned if this will cause her any issue if not dealt with early on. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | I had typed out this long detailed response then lost it. The short answer is it may dependent upon other things. Send me a Pm if you are interested to know more. Then I can type stuff out in word and not lose 20 minutes of work. lol

You can type it out in Word and post it here also. I know, I've had the same thing happen to me so many times, if its a detailed reply, I like to use Word.
