My Yorkie has lost interest in me.

Thank you all so much for your kind words and advice! I have been taking different approaches this week to see what works the best. I have ignored him (which btw TORE him up!) LOL Had him following me ALL over the house! So cute! But of course the hubby was at work. But hey! I will take what I can get.


I heated up some frozen chicken breasts last night and cut them up in tiny pieces and did some training with him. He has now learned to sit! YAY! And we played chase all over the house. He had a BLAST with that one. I have also changed my demeanor by being upbeat and excited. He looks at me with that tilted head look like I have just lost my mind, but it seems to be working.


My husband is off this weekend, so we shall see how much progress I have made.

He's now thinking you are a fun person and making his life more interesting and exciting. It doesn't take much to totally fake dogs into going along with what we want - they are such willing participants if we get all happy and there are smiles, excitement and treats, training, activities and fun. Keep it up and play fetch, toss his ball, play some tugowar, hunt for the hidden treat, etc., and keep his life interesting, busy learning and active and he'll be your best buddy!

My DH is definitely Dinky's favorite. The truth is DH is the one who spoils him and treats him like a baby. Just like when our kids were home, I'm the strict one!
DH feeds him, but when Dinky needs water or to go outside or wants the squeaky toy tossed, I'm the one who gets the "I need something stare."
But at night when we sit down to watch the tube, Dinky snuggles his butt next to my hip.
Dinky loves me but DH is the moon and the stars to him.
Sometimes I think about getting another one, a little girl, for me. But that would be crazy....

Definitely crazy! None of us has ever had more than one dog to double the love and fun! Not even one of us has succumbed to the need for the sound of 8 little paws dashing to the door, double the kisses when we come home or twice the furry little faces appearing to suddenly brighten our day.

Getting ourselves a little girl Yorkie because we were enjoying our little boy Yorkie so much was definitely crazy...and it was the best thing we ever did for HIM! Keegan and Piper are such a pair that on walks, you could practically put a tiny yoke on them--they have no personal space and walk almost on top of each other. The kisses they give each other are beyond cute. Yeah, I'd say it's crazy to get your pup a little pal...the cuteness could be blinding.

I have a yorkie and papilon pap is a girl and she loves her daddy. But loves me to. My yorkie boy loves dad to but also stays with me. But both are jeleous. If one of us call either one of them they both come running. We try to love on them both. Sometimes they will not let the other get up on the bed . Princess tho wouldnt eat certan foods unless her daddy gave it to her. But i encourage it. He since hes got older is just now taking to dogs. Now he loves them like me. Your baby loves you ,sometime i have found they will lean towards the one they think dont want them. My son comes over and my dogs want his attention. But hes not interested. So the bug him more.
