| New puppies born today but have a question on one. Hello everyone we have owned a yorkie for 4 years Lucy. We added a seconds one over a year ago. Now we have 5 new babies in the house. 3 boys and 2 girls. The third one born was a gold tan color is this normal ? We are just in love with all of them and this is our first time ever having puppies so any help is much appreciated. |

YT 500 Club Member | I can't answer your question, but if people pick on him for being the tan sheep, I'll be happy to take him off your hands. . I happen love creatures that are a little odd from the rest. I'm sure he'll be gorgeous. |

| Maybe it's a sable instead of the usual black and tan? Pretty puppy. I, too, volunteer to take that little beastie off your hands. |

| Well if you 4 year was just bred for the first time you are very lucky you did not have any issues. Make sure you keep the pups with mom until 12 weeks. It could've a golden but if there not AKC and you don't know the lines anything could be slipped in there.

| Thank you. We had the vet on standby for this. Both mom and dad are akc registered. We only know the moms heritage only three lines up. Contacted dads family to see what they will say. We are all in love with them. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | No it's not normal, but it doesn't look like it's a blue born, health risks are associated with them. Yours looks more like a golden color and it's actually an incorrect growth patter of the leg and head hair. Adult Yorkies are suppose to have a gold on their legs and head and "blue" which is a metallic black, on their saddle. I hope you do the responsible thing and don't breed this dog and get it fixed before it is placed in a pet home. Do not sell breeding rights, if you care anything about this breed. There will be people who will breed it to death, but we should never breed flaws into the breed. The dog will make a great loveable pet though! Here's some more information on color. Goldenray Genetics Chocolate Yorkies Red Golden or Yorkie Blue Borns CDA

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Yes, Joey was starting to get silver at 12 weeks, was very silver at 11 months and it seemed like literally overnight, he went from silver to beige, at around a year. As he grew older it got more golden, but it still is pretty light.
