| Parents' Personalities Hi everyone, The responses to my last post (about a bigger Yorkie) were so helpful that now I have another question! Firstly, the lady with first pick ended up last second taking the boy I was asking about in my last post. So I have to wait an additional 5 weeks to pick up my little buddy from the different litter. My question is... How much of the personality of the parents will determine the personality of the pups? I know that I would like a calmer Yorkie (really, I'll take him on walks and play with him and everything but I mostly just want a little snuggle buddy)- but the breeder informed me that both his parents are very "active and lively" dogs- do you think I will get a very active dog, or can some be less active? I'm kind of worried! Also, there are 3 boys in the litter- should I just look / ask for the calmest one? Or how on Earth do you choose? Thanks SO much for any responses! | Are you FIRST on the waiting list for a boy out of the next litter? Tell your breeder exactly what you are looking for, a calmer snuggle bug. If you are first on the waiting liost for a male, you can look at the pups and choose your baby from the available boys. Meanwhile, your breeder will be watching those babies and she can tell developing personalities, so she can help you select your baby. You can have very active parents that will have a litter with calmer as well as more active pups in it. To answer your question, you can get a calmer baby from two active parents, because it is also what is BEHIND the breeding pair that also contributes to the entire makeup of the babies.... |

| When I was picking my last puppy, the breeder let me visit often. I went to pick her out which tells nothing at 2-3 weeks old. However I went again at 6 weeks old and boy what a difference! She brought both my Lily and her sister out. Talk about two very different personalities! Lilys sister was very calm and Lily was a spit fire! Lily is very active but she is my snuggle bunny. She sleeps right beside me at night. And I wake up to her loving all over my face! My Rosie is 7. She is a very calm yorkie but has never really been one that wants to snuggle. Mikki is pretty active but wants to lay beside me all the time. All three of mine have very different personalities. I would recommend visiting the pups a few times as they get older. You will start to see the personality appear!

What if I meet and fall in love with one, but he's not the calmest? Or does it not work that way...hehe. | |

| My husband wanted Lilys sister. I wanted Lily. Once I met Lily I KNEW she was my baby. You will know. Follow your heart.
