I purchased Penny from a breeder for $850 here in Florida. |
I got mine here in Nebraska, my city, for $350. I have no regrets, and we saw both parents at the time. They were great little dogs, and she is very much like her parents! We had no intention of breeding or showing. She is our family member.:aimeeyork |
I live in Northeast Ohio and got Lexie for a bargain price of $575.00 She is VERY healthy and I couldn't ask for a better quality girl- I love her to pieces!!! |
3 Attachment(s) Well I got my "little" Max from a breeder in Northeast Texas for $250.00. He originally was $300.00 but she reduced the price by $50 because I drove from Houston to pick him up. The trip was a 7 hr trip each way! He was that cheap b/c he's a bit bigger 10lb and the tan in his face isn't as light as usual. She usually sells her male yorkies for $650.00 and her females range between $850 and $950. If anyone is intereste PM me and I will give you her information. I have attached pictures of Max so that you may see him.:aimeeyork |
I charge 750 to 800 males 900 for females.... AKC Limited reg.. Pet only with health guarantee. I don't charge anymore for tinny ones as for reg size.. Breeding dogs are priced at 2000.00 I think my prices are with in reason.. As if you buy a breeding female and she has 3 pups you have your investment back.. Also the cost of quality shown dogs is more than the run of the mill dogs as to pricing as showing is very expensive to prove conformation and a credit to the breed.. If you don't care as long as the reg says yorkshire as with all the new reg and many yorkshires are not purebred in these reg they sell them for same as purebred.. When I buy a dog I want history... and to be able to see related dogs in family.. All pups are cute but many don't grow up to be cute or have nice hair coats.. Then it's a crap shoot as to buying something with health issues.. |
yorkie pricing Very well said. I agree with you 100%. what more can I say. |
yorkies under 1,000. I just went to your site, bumbie is adorable. I bet he produces wonderful baby's. His color is beautiful. One like that I would love to have...:-) |
wow these prices are  My hubby paid $2400 for Buzz and I think he is crazy for doing so! ( did they see him coming )Ask me if we want a Refund I have to say No Nope no way |
This is my favorite subject. I think for me I got a really nice breeder. People say oh its because of your location. She is a show breeder so she doesn't breed to sell, and she maybe has 2 maybe 3 available each year for the price i received because i see Yorkies sold for more than i paid here all the time. I do understand location cause California Yorkies seem to be expensive for example...If i had 1000 and I wanted a Yorkie and the price was high in my area i would buy the cheaper Yorkie AND fly to get it as well. Especially if i was referred to the breeder by a YT member. I think less than 1000 is a fair price for a pet quality Yorkie. |
Why am i so passionate about this? because when you all tell new people that they cant find a Yorkie of good quality for less than 1000 you are giving false information. You should rather encourage them to do research and gather pricing for them selves. once they find a few potential breeders encourage them to come back here and check for references. with a lot of footwork you never know what you can find for what price. You never know when your going to come across a breeder with a good heart. |

ITA!!! here in some parts of Ms they are much cheaper than you find online. now those breeders that DO advertise online by way of websites know they can get $1000 and up for their puppies and charge that. i got romeo for $600 and her girls were $700. heath certificate, vet name and number,CKC registered. people have said he looks like a "$1000 dog" - whatever that means to different people! LOL - which goes to show that people have been conditioned to THINK they MUST pay $1000 to get a good dog and anything less is not good enough. i am patiently waiting for her to have another litter so that i can get a girl. i am so happy i don't have to search as long and as hard as i did to find romeo this time!:D |
I bought Aubrey for $600-700 can't remember the exact price. But Dakota was $850. You can find them for in the $500's here. But I paid more for Dakota bc I went to the same breeder that I got Aubrey from:D |
4 Attachment(s) I paid $600 for Cody.. Here's some pictures of my little man! lol |
THese are my 300$ babies who didn't quite make the show quality grade and I am SOOOOOO glad they didn't. I sit and think wow if Ryoko was a bit more Yorkie perfect he would not be with me now cause both his brother and Father are champions. Taking ur time, knowing your spending limits, and finding a reputable breeder is well worth the pay off. I am glad to see I am not the only one with a nice healthy Yorkie under 1000 bucks lol. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...1&d=1191368181 |

This is why people prefer BYB, breeders want to charge an arm and a leg then still charging more for smaller dogs??? It should be the other way around because in the end they require more care. |
1 Attachment(s) I paid $850 for Madeleine from a breeder on the west coast of Florida |
no papers  OK... My daughters looked for a long time for a yorkie. In July they thought they found one, They paid $250.00 for her. she was 7 months old but had no papers. witch I didn't care about I just wanted a yorkie. so they got her for my B'day, Then I got another one from the same breeder Well I took them to the vet last week & vet said Megan (the 1st one) is more of a silky and Phoebe is yorkie. I don't know that much about them except I wanted one. Papers didn't matter. :animal36 |
i paid $750 for my teddy bear with akc papers, from so. california. |
Well I don't think you should only consider the initial cost of the pup but what it could potentially end up costing. I did not read all the responses to this thread so if I am repeating someone elses sentiments forgive me. But as this poor girl in this thread (http://yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99060) pointed out, it can get very expensive very quickly and if a pet owner is not prepared financially to handle all the little surprises that come along then the poor animal is the one that pays the price. |
We got Fee-Fee 6 years ago when we lived in Austin, Texas. There used to be breeders selling puppies on north of 183 close to 620 by Lakeline Mall. My girlfriend and I used to go there every weekend to look at puppies. We rarely saw yorkies there but one Saturday we saw a sign that saids "Yorkie" and we had to check it out. They only had a little boy and we liked him, but somehow we didn't buy him right away. The next morning we told each other if we go there again and he was still there we would buy them. I remember the breeder had him in their minivan with the a/c on coz it was too hot that day, Fee-Fee looked really cute coz they just took a bath for him the night before. So we went to the ATM and withdrew some money and bought him. I think we only paid $350 for Fee-Fee, he was not AKC registered but was registered at a different club. The breeder said AKC was too expensive, I believe the breeder was more of a mom and pop type operation... We didn't know much about puppies back then, Fee-Fee was the first pet for both of us. Though $350 was a lot of money for us back then, now spending over $1k doesn't seem as much as $350 6 years ago somehow. It was DEFINITELY the best $350 we've ever spent, poor Fee-Fee, we love him so much, may he RIP... |
I paid $2800 for Tiffany. (dont tell my husband) She was worth every penny, I just love her to pieces! But now that I am looking for another one, I really cant pay that much again. So the search has begun! :) |

I paid 400$ for my CoCo, she was already 4 mths old, so I got a deal, also because my stepson's mom, is their neighbor. I think she gave me a good deal because of just having lost my Boston Terrier and I looked all pitiful. But, she is the healthiest, funnest little dog ever! She is totally perfect, plus the breeder gave her all her shots except for Rabies. Best tempermant ever too, not yappy at all.:aimeeyork Best puppy I've ever owned. The breeder normally asks 600-800$ per puppy, and I am going to buy another one from her and pay full price if I have to, because her dogs are awesome! I'm letting CoCo grow up some first, potty trained and stuff.:D Very pleased with my little angel though. |
I paid $850 for Riley. That included shipping. His breeder is in OK. All of her prices include shipping. I live in Chicago and most Yorkies are $1200 or more. Im looking for a little girl yorkie, but I havent found any under $1000. Staying under $1000 was my goal, but I've realized that I might have to pay a little more for a female. http://coalcreek-kennel.com/ |
Armani was priced at 850$ and I simply couldn pay that much ;( im a college student and so is my boyfriend lol so the breeder gave us $100 off, $750 was a lot of money, but Armani is worth every penny if I had do over and knew what a precious thing he was, i would of paid anything she asked. |
Around my area right now, yorkies have really came down in price, The one i just bought for my aunt was only 575.00 for a little girl, akc and a total doll. when i talked with the breeder, she said last yr at this time she was selling her girls for 900.00, but with our economy being so bad right now she has had to lower her prices:confused: so i guess it depends on where you live. |
