| Special cuddle toy? I'm curious if anyone else's yorkie has a snuggle buddy like ZoE does. ZoE DESTROYS stuffed toys! Ive posted photos on other threads showing my living room floor covered with stuffing and animal limbs all over the floor. But ZoE has this one teddybear that shes had since I first brought her home at six weeks old. She has never tried to destroy this one bear, and sleeps with is every night. If it falls off the bed, she will jump down and get it and bring it back up on the bed, even though she doesn't always sleep right next to it. I was wondering if this is unusual, or if other dogs also have a special cuddle buddy stuffed animal that they've never destroyed? Here's a photo of ZoE with her bear last night. She'll be 4 years old in December.

| What a cutiepie she is cuddling with her special cuddle-buddy for all of these years! It's such a sweet thing to see a dog love a toy just like a human has favorite things that comfort them. But it makes the story all the sweeter as she loves to tear up her other stuffed toys! Probably she was imprinted with this little bear early on as an infant and thinks of it as a littermate or something akin to that.

| Oh Karan....ZoE's such a little snuggle-bunny, loving her very first toy in that way.... I think Jeanie's dead right - thinking of it as her 'other' surrogate mum!!! I think she's special - and no, Harry has never done that...try as I might. He even managed to destroy/eat the 'mother-smelling-comfort-blanket' that we brought home with him, within 2 days of getting here....

| Jeanie and Sally, I think you both might be on to something! I never thought she might view it as a littermate. That makes sense as she was so young when I brought her home. She did have a couple of other stuffed animals right from the beginning too. One was a blue hippo that she seemed particularly fond of. But she chewed and pulled the stuffing out of those by the time she was 12-14 weeks old. This teddybear, she mouths and does very soft bites on (like she does on my hands), but never chews it up. The way she is with this teddybear makes her seem like a toddler with a favourite animal or blankie. It really is the cutest thing!

| Awwww how cute! Lily had a baby when she slept in the crate. But now she's in bed with me so I guess I'm her snuggle buddy! Lol.

| Every dog I've had found a special toy, Sig our last dog had a little vinyl football that she brought to bed at night and brought out in the morning. After about 8 or 10 years it started to get breaks in the vinyl, not from Sig's chewing(she was very gentle with it), just age. I looked everywhere for a replacement, one day I found it in a bag of vinyl toys at Petco, bought it washed it and switched them out when Sig was not looking. Talk about funny (to me cause I understood it), scared the heck out of Liz, she went into a whinning obsessive crying tilt for about 3 days. When she first found it said "I fixed it" as she knew that term from when she was sick or sticker in her foot and I fixed the problem. She was totally absorbed in that football for several days as if it was a puppy she'd just delivered, never letting it out of her sight, lol. |
