| New Yorkie owner Hi all, My wife and I will be getting a Yorkie puppy this Thursday. It is a 12 week old female. I am being told that she has not had any shots yet, is there anything special we should do besides get her shots ASAP? |

| Hi, welcome, and congratulations on your new baby! I'm sure you can't wait to welcome her into your family. I can't offer much advice because I've never had a young pup. I do know that you need to make sure your vet only gives one shot at a time. I'm sure more knowledgeable members will jump on & give you more useful advice. Good luck with your new little one, being a yorkie parent is wonderful!!

| I would not put her on the ground in any dog populated areas including the vets office until she receives her full series of puppy vaccines |

| Don't take her places other dogs have been or wild life until she has had all three sets of shots so no parks of any kind, no pet stores and don't put her on the ground outside or inside the vets office. It seems weird she has not even had one set of shots is there a reason?

| Crate training? Thank you all. We made first trip to the vets last week. She had worms and flee poop all over her. She got her first round of shots, worm medicine as well as flee medicine. She has been being crate trained now for a week and the past couple of days has done great. No accidents in her crate and going potty outside. How long do we need to keep crate training if she keeps doing well? Thank you all for your help. Scott |
