| I bring my puppy to work with me..... He gets lots of attention. It's a huge office and my mom is here also. I bring his crate and he also like to sleep on his little bed. I take him outside all the time. It just worries me because he sleeps so much. Is this normal? I have toys, water, and foor for him. He does play but mostly naps. He is 4 months and a tiny pup. And info would be appreciated. Thanks Wrigley's mom Lisa Last edited by lisakurth; 01-09-2006 at 12:05 PM. |

| I was concerned about the same issue cuz my puppy sleeps most of the day. He's 3 months TODAY!!! After a post on TY I was assured that this is normal. I think Yorkies just sleep most of the day especially when they are pups. Hope this helps.

| I wouldn't worry, Bailey sleeps alot also, especially when its real hot, or cold, it is what he does. I worried about it before also. Bailey comes to work with me also, I am so thankful. It is great, NO GUILT, about leaving him ever. He has his bed, food, toys, and greets everyone that comes in the door, of the office. If only they could get a paycheck.. He's promt and reliable m-f (8-5) Never misses a day!

| I wouldn't worry too much. Nikko is 8 months old and I can pretty much bet he is at home sleeping the day away, all day. I am not as lucky as you (I wish I were) and I can't bring my pup to work with me, so he stays at home alone. i keep him in the kitchen with food, water, toys, etc. I know he sleeps all day because when I am home he does it. they are just lazy little things,

| Yes, this is normal. Dogs need a lot more sleep than people, and cats need more sleep than dogs. In fact, cats can sleep 20 hrs/day! Working dogs (i.e. seeing eye dogs) need more sleep than their people do, so a friend of mine with one takes his harness off at the office so he sleeps while she works. She doesn't need him at the office since she knows her way around. It is very hard work being a seeing eye dog, so they try to retire them kind of early.... |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Yes it is perfectly normal for him to sleep alot!!! Esp. since he is a pup he should be sleeping in order for him to grow!! I have heard that most yorkies sleep between 16-18 hours a day.....and my girls sleep at least that!!

| Thank you everyone.... I really know how lucky I am. I worl for my mom and dad's business. My mom and I are the only ones in the office. It's great because when I get home and want to get things done my fiance and daughter(16) can't wait to take him off my hands. Thanka agian. I feel better knowing that the sleep is normal. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Trace gets to come to work too. The ups drivers bring him TREATS. He loves the brown guys/gals When he was a pup, he slept ALOT, now sometimes he sleeps most of the day and sometimes he's up getting into something he probably shouldn't
