| Hi Teri....I bought the Virbac C.E.T. HEXTRAPremium Chews for Petite Dogs from Chewy for $7.99. Remy loves them and hasn't had an issue with choking on them or anything. I hope that helps!

YT 2000 Club Member | We use the C.E.T. Hextra Premium Chews and our three girls love them. I give them 1/2 a chew every day and it really helps keep their teeth clean.

| Lilah looooooved the veggie but they made the biggest mess! Stuff all stuck in her paw hair. We just finished a bag of the enzymatic ones. Debating re-ordering those or the extra. Also, I bought the extra-large size....it lasts us through several chewings over a couple of weeks (or more) Last edited by Sukey; 08-19-2014 at 07:45 PM. |

| Why are the CET chews ok and rawhide isn't? I thought rawhide was a choking hazard? |

| We use the enzymatic CET chews, which are rawhide. The danger depends mostly on your dog's chewing habits. Max and Teddy are heavy, aggressive chewers, so I hold onto the CET chew while the boys work on them. The chew becomes rubbery as they are chewed. If the dog swallows a large piece, or the whole thing, it can become lodged in the throat. This happened to Ann's Marcel. His airway was completely obstructed. I also had to retrieve one from Teddy's throat when he got away from me and tried swallowing the whole thing. Many people have commented on YT that their small Yorkies cannot chew off a piece of the medium size, but Teddy can. He has scissor teeth. He has swallowed small pieces and not had any problems, but rawhide can cause GI obstructions. There is also a variation in size and thickness of the chews in each bag.

| So CETs are the same as rawhide as far as choking hazards go, but they're better because they aren't as chemically? I'm thinking about trying them for Lola, I currently give her whimzees large alligators but they're kinda $$ ($11 for 7 on amazon). She's had rawhide bones at my aunt's house and did fine with them. We used to give my poodles rawhide bones a lot, but they were 2x as big as Lola. For the most part they did fine with them but we did have to pull a small piece out of one of their throats a few times. |

If so I'll stick with the alligators, they don't make any mess and aren't a choking hazard (they break up into really small rice-like pieces). | |

I have only used the enzymatic ones, so I don't know if all the CET chews are sticky.

| Thanks That's odd whimzees and paragon are the same company. What shape did you buy? I bought Lola the large sticks once and they broke off in big pieces, the alligators crumble. She's never had the hedgehogs. |
