| What would you do.... I have a dogsitter for Gizmo that I have used 3 times now. She really loves Gizmo, but something happened the last time I went to pick him up. We went to Vegas and I texted her on Sunday morning letting her know we should be by around 2pm to pick him up. When I got there she was pretty intoxicated. She couldn't find all his toys and his bed. My boyfriend and I went walking around her house while her husband sat on his recliner. I think he was intoxicated too but I'm not sure. I was so furious I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I didn't even want to pay her!!! It really irriated me that she would be in that condition when I picked him up. She knew what time I was coming. My daughter thinks I'm crazy cuz i don't want to take Gizmo back to her. She is getting paid to take care of my dog and can't stay somber on a Sunday afternoon until I pick him up. Who does that??? Would you take him back to her? |

| I would never take Gizmo back to that sitter. Being intoxicated while dog sitting is ridiculous- who knows what would've happened. Gizmo could have got out of the house, gotten into something he shouldn't... you never know- It wouldn't be worth it to me.

| I most definitely agree that you should not take Gizmo back to that house ever. If she was intoxicated when you picked him up no doubt it happens any time you leave him and you don't want him in that kind of care. You definitely are not crazy not to want to take him back. Please find someone you can totally trust to keep him if you must when you go away. Last edited by Silver Lace; 08-13-2014 at 09:12 AM. |

| I agree with the others. Just as it is unacceptable to be intoxicated when babysitting a human baby, it is just as bad with my fur baby! |

| Since you are in Orange County, I think you should try out The Spaw in Tustin and let me know what you think. ha. No, I haven't been there but after lots of research I want to hear directly from someone that has tried it. They have really good reviews? Leaving them is so hard! |

| Another vote here not to take him back. It's one thing to have a beer(wine) or two and be totally sober but it's definitely a different story if the person was intoxicated enough to be noticed. To me, that's like a person that keeps saying "I'm fine to drive!" when s/he's clearly not. I don't know the sitter and even though she's really caring/loves Gizmo, personally, I wouldn't take the chance. Gosh... accidents happen when you're sober. You're just doubling/tripling that chance by being intoxicated. |

| good choice, i would never bring my baby back there. I don't leave my baby with anyone, only if there is a death in the family and I have a 2 or 3 hour trip for wake, then it's a sleep over for me. that would be the only time I would leave my baby with anyone.

| I would NEVER let them watch my baby again! That's ridiculous. If someone can't stay sober for one weekend while they watch my baby, what other poor decisions are they making? I avoid leaving my dog at all costs, but in the event that I absolutely have to (like when I went on my honeymoon) I leave him with my sister. She is the only person that I trust to take care of him the way I do. There are doggy daycare centers in the area that I also have used and trust, but family is always my first choice when possible. My sister love watching my dog because she is 15 so she gets to stay at our place and get away from our parents for a night or two. |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | You did good. I would want a person that I pay to be responsible with my Galen. Would anyone have a problem picking up a baby with a drunk babysitter. She would be jailed. I think we as owners treat our pups as our babies no matter the size. And we want responsible people. People that are drunk become lax. She can open the door and he could escape, they could drop something on the floor that your pup can get and hurt or kill him. Also they can trip and fall on them. And what if something happen that he has to go to the emergency vet. They can't drive. So your pup can die from their irresponsibly. They could have waited until you came to pick him up. . .

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I wouldn't take him back there. When intoxicated, people forget things, neglect things, and can get mean/nasty...you don't want to take those chances with this precious one .
