Our lab's chip had never been registered, and my Cavalier's chip had old info! Somewhere in my head I guess I thought if they ever got lost the chip would magically bring them back or something just as stupid! I have learned what could have been a heart breaking lesson--get them chipped, BUT just as important--keep the info up to date! | I'm glad it helped. I didn't have Katie's AKC papers at first when I got Her at the age of three. My vet scanned her and gave me the number, too. I was able to find the name of the company, and it was easy to change the information over to our name and phone number instead of her breeder's. When I take her to the vet, I try to remember to have her scanned to make sure the chip is working. |
