Where Does Your Yorkie Sleep? Lady will usually nap in her crate during the day but insists on sleeping in bed with me at night. Also today after her morning play time she whined to get picked up and then passed out 1 second later in my arms lol! She is such a cuddle bug! I know I have to crate her when I'm gone but is it okay to just let her sleep with me at night? She is 9 weeks by the way:) |
It's totally up to you :). I didn't let ours sleep w/ us until they were potty trained and new how to get down off the bed and make it to the pad. Once that happened, they slept w/ us. We have 3 sleeping w/ us and it's awesome . |
I got Lily at 12 weeks and kept her in her crate at night until she was 16 weeks. She now sleeps in bed with us at night. Lily was so little I was afraid she would fall off my bed. Once she learned how to use our stairs and got a little bigger we allowed her in the bed. Also she is about 95% potty pad trained. I did not want her having accidents in my bed. |
I usually put her down on the pad once or twice if she starts stirring in her sleep. I make her sleep on my arm like I do my babies so I can keep track of her lol! |

There are 3 here as well. Mina sleeps between our pillows with Tilly beside her. One of them usually finds my arms during the night. Kenzie likes to be by my knees or in daddy's arms. |

We keep all of our 3 dogs in the crate overnight. I take our new 8 1/2 week guy out in the middle of the night. Just in case we have a baby puppy crate with one area for our Yorkie to sleep and an area he can go to with a puppy pad for potty if he really can't wait for me. After a week or so he seems to like to do most of his potty on the grass outside. |

Ripley doesn't sleep during the day. Its play all day. DH is home during the day and they play fetch most of the day. At night, she sleeps above my head. I'm used to it now...at first..ugh. She refuses to sleep beside me. No matter how many times I put her down beside me...she sneaks back up. Those surprise paws to the eye in the middle of the night are real fun too. |
1 Attachment(s) Maui sleeps on my bed at night. During the day he takes naps in his crate. If he could jump on my bed he'd probably sleep there instead. |
Gizmo just started sleeping with me. He has to sleep on my stomach and if I lay on my side he has to be touching my stomach or back. I have moved away from him while he's sleeping to see if he would stay there and nope... he moves so he's touching me. I'm normally a side sleeper but with him I stay on my back as long as possibe. Sometimes when I'm on my side he will lay on my other side. It's kind of funny to watch him balance himself until he finds a spot without falling off cuz I'm only 5 feet and petite. |
Laila, she sleeps in the bed with us at night. I had to make it where he gets in her little bed during the day while I am working because if not she would sleep in our bed all day. She is a lazy bum. She sleeps all the time. I guess she is growing but gosh. She knows now that we stay on the ground during the day and at night we can get in the bed. She was 6 months when we got her and I guess she understands you do not pee where you sleeps so she has never used the bathroom she will let you know if she has to go. |

My girls usually sleep in a pack-n-play beside my bed and my baby boy sleeps in the kennel beside them. I wouldn't dare put him in with them. I would never get any sleep! lol The girls do sleep with me every once in a while. Ally is usually near my stomach, cuddled close, and Tia, by my feet. |
We started Baxter out in a crate... kept it ON the bed between us and I had my hand in the crate. Then we graduated to have the doggie bed on the bed with us. At this point (3 years later) he is an "equal opportunity snuggler" and shares his time with all the family off and on all night long! In a nutshell - where does my yorkie sleep? Anywhere he desires! (and only sleeps in his bed during the day when we are all in the room with him) |
Lambeau slept in his crate til he was about 6 months old...now he sleeps with us in our king size platform waterbed. We were very worried that he would try to leap out, but he seems to understand that it's long way down and has never tried to get down on his own. He usually 'flops' down snug against my back, but if it's cold he worms his way under the covers. He wakes me with a gentle paw on my face and a soft woof to let me know it's time to get up and start our day. |
Cookie sleeps in her bed in her cage at night. Ensures she can't get into any trouble. |
My husband says Wall-e allows us to sleep in his bed lol! He likes to sleep in between us. He only wakes me up if he has to potty, he doesn't bother my husband. Even if hubby gets up in the middle of the night, Wall-e won't potty until I get up too! |
My bed! Where else?! lol. I actually get offended when he decides to sleep on the floor. |
In our bed where she belong. |
Gina likes to sleep in either of her crates, each with a bed and two blankets, no she's not spoiled, but at night she sleeps in the smaller crate in our room with her dragon, has to have her dragon. She will sleep on the couch or bed sometimes but she really prefers her dens. I'd love for her to sleep with us in the bed, but she always has to have the last word on bedtime, she's 15 months now. Cheers Quad & Gina:aimeeyork |
I sleep on my stomach and Lacey sleeps on the small of my back if the spot is vacant. My Maine Coon cat also thinks that is her spot to sleep, too. I have woken to Lacey barking at the cat to get her to move and it usually works. Lacey is extremely jealous of the cat and does not like to share. |
A creature of habit Crystal stays with Dad in his room in the evenings, as he watches TV late (early hours). Sometimes she's there all night (as he falls asleep watching it!). If not, when he decides to put the room to sleep, she gives him a goodnight kiss and trips off to sleep with Mom:). |
Sheldon sleeps anywhere and everywhere during the day...he just kind of plops down and goes to sleep wherever he is when he gets tired. Lol. He sleeps in his crate with a fluffy bed at night. |
Tibbe sleeps with me but very occasionally will switch to his bed for a while for some reason during the night. |
My two year old sleeps in bed with me unless he's too warm . My new fur baby sleeps in her crate next to the bed, but she did end up in bed with us last night. Her dad got woken up with her nibbling his nose! |

Sammie sleeps in the kitchen. He is not potty trained yet. When he is maybe with my daughter. But she is still in school and I don't want him to think he can play all night with her and disturb her sleep. I had two dogs sleep with me for 16 year and I said I would never do it again. Never got one nights sleep. Up down, up down!! |
