| General Food Question... I know this should probably be posted in the diet section, but clearly there is more traffic in general discussion. Just curious as to what you feed your pups and how you/they like it? I was planning on either Blue Freedom Small Breed Puppy or Wellness Core Puppy (depending on kibble size, which I have not went and checked just yet). My breeder, however, weans with Royal Canin Extra Small Puppy. The reason I had my thoughts with Blue or Wellness is because I prefer, generally, to feed grain-free, which the Royal Canin is not. Thoughts? Recommendations? I know the rules of changing food quite well if that is what I decide to do, but I am wondering who thinks it is worth the change? Should I just see how he does on what she starts him on, or just go with my gut and switch him slowly (you know, once he comes home). Thanks...I appreciate your opinions and thoughts |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I feed pre-made frozen raw by Primal or Natures Variety or Stella's. If I were you, I'd feed the Core bc I too prefer the least amount of grains. I like a higher protein diet for canines.

| I am feeding Lily the Royal Canin puppy until I can change her to home cooking. I will change her at one year old. My other two love the home cooking and do well on it. So I plan to change Lily over as well. That way I can control what they are being fed. The only other food I use is Science Diet I/D when my Rosie is sick. She has a bad tummy. Lol. I think I would leave him on it for a bit. Let him adjust to his changes then decide what you should do. Lily is my first puppy so I am no expert. Rosie had trouble with Wellness but remember she does have a sensitive tummy. We also tried BB. They would pick out the life bits. I got tired of picking them up. Haha. So I decided to home cook. You can get a recipe at petdiets.com if interested.

I had tried a couple others and she would not eat it so wellness is way to go. |

| Royal Canin puts a lot of science into the making of there foods and are an extremely trust worthy company. I feed Royal Canin Yorkshire Terrier and my very picky girl with very sensitive skin has yet to have a problem. Blue Buffalo may not be as grain free as you think they have a case against them claiming there grain free foods have grain in them.
