Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() Crystal loves fresh nuts (not salted), especially cashews, peanuts and Walnuts. There's a set 'de rigeur' about this. Firstly the head bobs from side to side as anticipation mounts. Then the front paws rise in unison to complete the pogo stick manoeuvre. If its half a nut it gets eaten there and then. If its a whole one however, different rules apply and it gets carried off into the Bedroom to be scoffed for some reason. She then returns to Dad to give a very soft little whimpering cry for a repeat! ![]() |

| ![]() Generally speaking nuts aren't good for dogs, andmacadamia nuts should be avoided at all costs. In fact most nuts are not good for a dogs health since their high phosporus content is said to lead to bladder stones.

| ![]() I have been under the impression that nuts are toxic to dogs. Someone with more info will post. I don't allow my dogs to eat nuts. Peanut butter is ok.

Macadamia nuts are toxic, and should be avoided at all costs, nuts in general are high phosphorous etc., Not all nuts are toxic, but each pup is different and nuts should be avoided.

| ![]() According to this article a few cashews occasionally would be ok for most dogs, however macadamia nuts and walnuts are highly toxic. Are Dogs Allowed to Have Cashews? | Dog Care - The Daily Puppy My personal choice for my dogs is no nuts.... there are so many other more appropriate treats for them to enjoy, why take a chance of making them sick.

| ![]() Also, peanut butter etc is safe because peanuts are NOT nuts. Peanuts are legumes.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() Thank you, I've learned that peanuts are not nuts for the first time. I did know that Almonds are likewise dis -included as seeds. I've never heard of, or seen macadamia nuts in England? It's strange that nuts are a staple part of our dog's cousins menu, the bear? Oh well not again just to be safe, thank you girls ![]() |
