| ![]() Hi all, this is my 1st post...name's Sam and I'm from Portugal. This is Simba, he's 4 months old and we just fell in love with him because of his sweetness, smartness and energy. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5840462/1.JPG Well, Simba is not a natural bloomer ("up ears") , and we have been taping his ears from past 2,5 months.. Usually when I take the tape off (every week to change & clean), the ears are able to stand up for a day or 2, but no more than that... they just go floppy again... Here you can spot the difference (comparing to the first pic): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5840462/2.JPG 2 weeks ago I started giving him some shark cartilage, it comes in capsules. I just open the capsule and give him the grains by hand after feeding him some kibble, usually 3x / day. I'm not sure about the dosage...is there any expert in the house what are the dosages like? ![]() A friend of mine also gave his puppy some shark cartilage, that's where i took the hint from, but it was a different breed (german shepard). Nevertheless I know he is young and we shouldn't give up on the taping process... but drives me crazy seeing some yorkies bloom so young... Any advices for Simba's ears? Btw, i'm feeding him good kibble, Royal Canin - Yorkshire Junior (up to 10months), i believe that veterinary junior is also good, but never tried it. --- i try to cut on the treats, for training I use some of is kibble. Well, wish you all good. Any kind of feedback is pretty much appreciated at this point ! Regards, Sam |

| ![]() Welcome to YT! Simba is a cutie for sure! Keep massaging his ears as well. I've never heard of shark cartilage though, hopefully others will be along soon. How much does your little guy weigh? My Mia's ears never ended up staying up, taped etc., but they fell, some puppies are just meant to have floppy ears. I love them both ways!

| ![]() Welcome to YT. Unfortunately I can't help you either as my Snicker's ears went up all on their own. I never cared whether her ears went up or stayed floppy. You fur baby is just adorable with them floppy. But I hope they turn out the way you would like. |

| ![]() Welcome to YT, Simba is just beautiful. I had 2 yorkies with floppy ears and 3 with stand up ears. I can't help you out with what to do. The 3 that had stand up ears. the ears were straight as puppies. I am sure there will be others that may be able to offer tips.

| ![]() He sure is adorable even with his ears half way up. I would not mind if it were my dog if they did not go up as he looks so precious in the picture of him at three months. Welcome to YT. Hope you enjoy the forum. |
