I think you need to do the math and know what you're paying. I didn't want a policy that would cost me more than a few dollars a month and wanted it in case of something major. There are many companies and ways to look at it. I went with Embrace on my two young boys. |
After reading all these posts, I'm wondering if I should get insurance? I basically have a seperate acct. where I put money in each month...I figure if something happens I can just take it out from there.... |
Well here is the thing of it all, if you have something major go wrong, like say LP surgery at around $2K+ and then another major medical within months or even a year, will your fund be large enough to cover this? I do think you have to do the math on it, every-ones financial situation is different, and you need to look at the risks and your ability to live with-in those risks. The younger your dog is the cheaper the insurance will be. You can look at maybe insuring your pet for the first 4-5 years, then if your pet remains healthy drop the insurance. How-ever be advised that once again when your dog enters the senior years health issues do crop up; also what about accident insurance? Accidents do happen and that insurance alone could probably be had fairly cheaply. |
Thank you everyone for the responses! :) I've decided that I'm going to get Chloe health insurance, I just need to see which one is best. Which insurance companies would you recommend? |
