These are my thoughts, too. If this is a 'real' situation, and not just 'test dialogue' for the forum members, I hope...for the Yorkie's sake alone...that he recovers on his own since that 'seems' to be all the help he can expect at this time.

Close to 9pm we went on a walk and he was fine. After the walk when we got home he got another reverse sneeze. It was a quick one though. He then was his normal self again. but around 12midnight he was slowly turning in circles and gagging like he wanted to throw up. That lasted a couple of minutes. then he seemed fine and he went to sleep. This morning (29th) (my day off) I was sleeping in and I hear him gagging like he was vomiting but worse. I immediately jumped out of bed and found him turning and falling having a hard time to breath and he couldn’t get up he seemed like he couldn’t control his head. Like maybe he was having a seizer (?) it was a horrible moment. I picked him up and from his nose there was a yellow foam coming out and he couldn’t breath I forced his mouth open and he was able to catch his breath but foam was still coming from his nose and mouth and he was still gagging. This went on for what seemed to be hours. But it probably was a few long min. he seems ok after he was able to breath.



Could this be happing do to the comet cleanser 2 days ago? I know for sure it dropped on his head, but he probably inhaled it to. I’m very worried as he is so tiny 2.5lb 3y/o. Please help as what I should do. I was thinking to take him to the vet but he is a little aggrieve and gets super agitated whenever people get near him I don’t want him to get worse. Thanks so much

Not for one minute do I believe that you told this story (exactly as you told us) to a vet's office and they told you not to come in.

Nope, I am not a professional. I am, however, a pre vet who has spent hundreds of hours in veterinary hospitals including ER. A licensed veterinarian (not a tech) needs to put their hands on this dog and auscultate the chest NOW (which cannot be done over the phone).

Annabel - this above ^^^ sums up your situation perfectly. You truly should be at a vet's office - NO MATTER what some vet tech tells you. A vet needs to SEE this dog in order to evaluate these super scary symptoms.

For goodness sake, your dog was acting SO ODD that you said you thought it was having a seizure - that alone should motivate you to take this poor kiddo to the vet.

Let me ask you this: what on earth do you have to lose by taking this vulnerable poor kiddo who is 100% reliant upon you to the vet?

The reason I posted that is to point out the inconsistencies in what the OP is posting. I would assume that anyone who has/is studying to be a vet tech or has even volunteered in a vet's office would understand that the symptomotolgy that the OP posted about was concerning enough that you wouldn't go on the internet to check out what others think. And then once that had happened would know that a "wait and see" recommendation over the telephone is not an appropriate response.

IDK. My grandmother always said that when something doesn't make sense, there's probably a reason. It's kind of like being in a situation where you *think* grannie may have had a heart attack. But, just to be sure, you decide to go on Facebook and ask for advice. We all know the advice would be call 911 NOW. And if we did, we sure as heck wouldn't accept an answer of "well, just wait and see if she has another one".

So what reason could there be? I guess there are several. There are two that are at least partially palatable: either the OP exaggerated the description of the event a tad or they failed to accurately relay the symptoms to the vet tech.

The worst possible explanation would be that this was another case of Munchausen's By Doggie.

The OP was back online around 1 a.m. PST. If they were honest in the first post, then I hope the dog is ok and that it has been checked out by a veterinarian in person.

If it's the later...well...

At this late date there is nothing that I can add, other than if you are concerned about any symptoms as a pet owner, it is reason enough to get into your vets office. And vet tech advice over the phone no less does not substitute for a Vets opinion.

Munchausen's By Doggie, LMAO! I'm pretty sure that's the case. Just someone wanting some attention and getting kicks out of jerking everyone's chain. If she wants to continue her fun, she'll have to sign up under another name because it's not gonna work again under the current name.
