BTW, it wouldn't be up to the AKC, it's the breed club for each breed that decides what the standard is -- in this case the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America.

| I did find a reference to only one change since the original standard was published. 2007 they added the disqualifying characteristic. |

| About Yorkies Weight Must not exceed seven pounds. Disqualification Any solid color or combination of colors other than blue and tan as described above. Any white markings other than a small white spot on the forechest that does not exceed 1 inch at its longest dimension. Approved April 12, 1966 DQ added Oct. 1, 2007 |
